Since in NYCC 2013 we had our first look at the Age of Extinction Leader Optimus Prime figure, do you think we may see some TLK toys at NYCC or some news regarding the upcoming movies like who will direct the Bumblebee Spin Off seeing they should be in pre-production right now on that movie in order to start filmnig next year.

I think we'll see one of the toys form TLK as a preview like what they did with AOE Leader Optimus like you said or at least at the London event the week after.

Sorry to "hi-jack" your thread eagc7, but does anyone know, if Hasbro applied for any new BOT or CON names? Curious if it could give us a clue to the identity of some of the newcomers to TLK.
If there aren't any new names registered, perhaps they won't get a toy, or they are an already licensed name. For example Dead End, could be the McLaren (wishful thinking on my part), because he was recently used in the combiner wars line. Thanks ahead of time for an info/scoops!

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if we see something, especially given that a lot more info has been given out this early than for any of the previous movies.

I'm not sure if I'm remembering right, but I seem to recall there were some TLK toys displayed earlier in the year at one of those pop-up type exhibitions Hasbro's started doing.

Edit: it was a trade show:

For I I think they just trademarked the "Autobot Sqweeks" name, but I'm sure by December they'll have more, unless they already have the rights for the new characters.

Check the link on my post above:

Could very well be pictures/design art rather than actual prototypes, but I remembered this because I thought at the time that having something to show that far in advance explains why the toys are alwYs based on old concept art and not updated to match the CGI models by the time they come out.

Usually, robots designs are done way ahead of the movie production. That stage is called Pre-Production. According to press reports, Hasbro has showcased these designs (and/or prototypes) to the investors in UK during Hasbro's very own Factory Of Wonder pop-up trade show . That's how they get their attention to become License Holders.

    End of the first paragraph:

I guess, reading again it could mean a sneak peek at the movie itself, but they wouldn't have anything mush to show at that point.

    Thank you :)

Oh, my mistake. I thought you had meant there had been pictures shown, which is why I was wondering why it wasn't on the FP.

I would just like to see a Voyager AOE Optimus Prime. I'm not going to hold my breath for any car Transformers until Toy Fair.

It would probably be a new Optimus or Bumblebee figure and about it.

Considering that Hasbro is trying to refresh the franchise and do the things in a diferent way, i wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro do something diferent on NYCC, we may see a small assortement of figures based on TLK to tease and create hype for the movie.
The thing is what kind of figures we will get this time. Deluxe, voyager and leader figures are for sure. I hope to see Legion figures this time, i missed those on AOE line.
If only the toy listing get leaked as years ago.

I wouldn't count on it. It's become apparent that Hasbro view the one steps etc. as the main line now, with Generations being something of a side line, though with the Prime Wars trilogy they're pushing it like never before.

What I've been wondering is will they still make Generations deluxe figures if they make Warrior class figures for the kids' line, given that they are to all intents and purposes the same size class (with just a minimal price different).

It'll be interesting to see what they offer up this time round, hopefully they've learnt from AOE that an overwhelming amount of choice doesn't equate to better sales
