As we are currently occupying an era of history in which Transformers is strictly reserved for homages and rehashes of existing ideas, designs, plot lines, etc. I decided to ask the simple question, "what hasn't been done yet?" Because that gives us an idea of what CAN be done that wouldn't just be a better/worse version than something that came before. And maybe someday we'll see if any of these ideas come to fruition.

 

Yes! This is the type of thread I have been waiting for.

1. A crossover with Shrek. Predictable, I know. Imagine Ogrebots and DeShrekticons battling it out! Imagine Lord Farquaad as a shapeshifting Quintesson who created the Knights of Cybertron to capture princesses to add to his alien harem. Imagine the adventures of Drek's Head, Onionus Prime, Ogrelord, Shrek-Gar, Swampwave, Broganbee, and Weed-Ratbat!

2. A Transformers story where, rather than the Autobots and Decepticons landing on Earth in the past and getting reactivated, or landing in the present and continuing their war, the Decepticons arrive on the Earth decades or centuries earlier...and by the time the Autobots arrive, Earth is nothing but ruins, humans appear to be extinct, and they have to sneak onto the planet to not get detected by the Decepticons stationed on the planet. Consequently, you have a small team of Autobots figuring out what happened, and what is left, and whether it's worth protecting or fighting the Decepticons over. The Autobots wouldn't all agree on whether to fight the Decepticons, so a bunch of surviving species who don't even have technology could be free from the Decepticons. How would it end? Would humans truly be gone? Would the war continue on Earth?

3. A Transformers story where the main conflict is between the overly masculine Jaegertron and the ultra feminine Matriarch Supreme and her Womxn's Justice Division, who seek to free womxn and femmebots everywhere from potential oppressors! Regardless of which extreme wins, we lose!

4. Pooformers made of fecal material, who can break up into tiny little turds and microscopic poop particles or combine into Crapstalts. They can fight enemy robots by clogging their inner machinery and weaponry, or by smearing their optics, or by giving organic life deadly illnesses.

5. A continuity where Unicron turns humans into his minions: the Unibros!

6. Related to Unicron, let's call it the Multicron story just for the sake of things. I'm not a fan of him being a deity, but if he's going to be super powerful, why not have him inhabit many worlds? Ditto to Primus. Imagine many planets, moons, and other celestial bodies, some controlled by Unicron and others Primus, battling each other, all while the Autobots, Decepticons, Heralds of Unicron, and Quintessons battle it out in the space in between and on their colliding surfaces! Rather than two worlds colliding, you have the conflict between Unicron and Primus play out on many worlds and in many galaxies, and countless hapless beings get caught in the crossfire.

7. Lepre-Cons who, instead of transforming into cubes like the human-built Transformers in AoE, transform by breaking up into nuggets of gold and metallic four-leaf clovers! Their leader can be Cloverkill, who has the luck of the Irish, wields a clover shuriken to slice through Autobots, and gets drunk by punching other Transformers straight in the nose and drinking their leaked Energon!

8. A Transformers series where the battle outcomes are determined not by guns and artillery and blades and explosives and fists, but by raps and rhymes! Featuring appearances by musical artists like Kanye West and Justin Bieber!

 

A story where the Transformers leave Cybertron as in previous incarnations (for whatever reason fits), but landing on an Earth that is already sufficiently advanced to be able to put up a good fight, putting the TFs at the combat disadvantage. TF'07 came close, I suppose, but that was closer to level-pegging than all-out advantage.

Alternatively - having the technologically advanced humans be the ones to find Cybertron and the TFs to be the defending species.

 

A transformer that turns into a platypus

 

Platypuses are egg-laying mammals. Females often lay a pair of eggs.

What if a platypus Transformer laid two, planetary Transformers eggs that hatched into powerful Transformers? One, the Primus, developed by integrating himself into Cybertron's core and circuitry? And the other integrated himself into another planet and grew by consuming worlds, thus becoming Unicron?

Imagine if the Yin and Yang of Transformers were hatched from the eggs of a platypus Transformer? I guess you could call it Transformers: Dreamtime!

 

The life of a pretender among us

Get some TFs to fill-in the blank or try to find an answer to a question Steve Harvey asks.  

 

A Transformer that transforms into organic objects (not animals.) Like tables, chairs, etc.

 

They're not organic... they're inanimate. Non-animal organics would be plants  

Pre-"awareness" Rung could be considered inanimate, since he was believed to be decorative, as could K-class Decepticons and the Decepticon cassettes, but all vehicles in the Earth sense are inanimate, so would qualify anyway.

 

A tf story where unicron (in earth) breaks out.

 

So long, cruel world... hello, cruel world-eater...?

 

Transformers wake in the 50s.
Decepticons and Autobot war visits several planets first before getting to Earth.

 

Masterforce. The Autobots lived as normal people outside of combat.

The comics have done both of these IIRC. The second is the entire basis for IDW1.

I really like this idea.

A series where TFs crash land on a planet with humanoids the same size. The crash causes so much damage to both groups that they have to be integrated with each other. They would be called "Cyborgians".

 

I'd love to see something like this.

In the Marvel-Era Cybertron had these massive engines that could allow it to move independently of any gravitational pull, which lead to it getting knocked out of its place and sent hurtling through the solar system, the story could take place more-so from our perspective than from theirs. One day scientists just notice a large planet that seems to be made mostly (or even entirely) of metal just parks somewhere in our solar system.

It leads to a sudden push in regards to technology, until they eventually get the ability to reach the planet (maybe with probes first) which possibly puts them on the radar of the Decepticons, who may have basically become the ruling force of the planet while the Autobots are a rebel faction forced underground.

It could lead to problems because perhaps our 'first contact' with this new species is with the Cons, which naturally would lead humanity to view them all as a threat, not realizing the Autobots aren't like that.
