I added panels to cover the visible thighs in the trailer. They fold flat and hide away in robot mode.

 

Well done! I've always felt there should be another folding panel like what you did to cover the thigh and at the same time mitigate the large gap between his lower leg and the white shin/ramp in robot mode. Looking at your Hyper UM robot pic, if it hadn't been for the stupid butt flap, MP22 mold nailed it as UMagnus in all aspects, from toon accurate, toy functionality, to very intuition transformation. I totally in love with MP22 arm/missile launcher transformation and this is where the Legend MST/MFT UM2.0 fail in alt.mode in term of toon aesthetic. I know it's absurd to compare a Legend scale to a MP scale due to price and size differences.

As for Hyper UM himself, if it hadn't been for the stupid red color (it needs to be white, damn it!) on the missile launcher connector, I would've purchased him along time ago. It's too bad that I have to Hyper UM pass since he looks great in robot mode w/out the ginormous butt flap like MP22. And the accessories which include the BFG and the extra face plate are really cherry on top. If Hyper UM get reissued with the white connector, then I'll gladly get him. The incorrect color bother me because I like to display my UM with the missile launcher on the side like the toon. So that red, really pop up and out of place.

 

Any idea if THF has fixed the issue of the red shoulder hinge not staying in place in bot mode?

 

You mean the hinge that the arm is on that plugs into the torso in bot mode? Those are tight and have no issues staying connected.

 

Most copies have a problem with that red hinge staying connected in bot mode. Even Ben's and botsandbits reviews mention this occurrence.

 

Got mine early last year, no issues with it

One comes off easier than the other on mine, but I don’t elevate it to an actual issue in my case. You could do the future finish or nail polish trick to make the tab a little thicker?
