After re-reading MTMTE #8 (and getting scared about the names on the Necrobot's list), I got to thinking: In trying to be positive, I was wondering if the names from the Lost Light were entered because of the LL's "explosion" (since everyone on Cybertron believes that they are dead). If that is the case, then the following would be considered: - The Constructicons and Apeface aren't dead (and like Rung, they just had their heads blown up, but their sparks are intact) - Pharma is still alive (and therefore could show up later, seeking revenge against Ratchet) I hate the idea that so many great characters are eventually going to be dead. I really like Chromedome in MTMTE, and Hound hasn't even said one word since we've seen him on the LL. Plus, Magnus just started smiling, and we can all appreciate that. So, what does everybody else think?
When was Apeface killed? And I reeeeeally don't think the Necrobot was counting the Lost Light explosion. Even if that were the case, what's to say the Necrobot hadn't got to to the Constructicons and Pharma yet?
When we see the Necrobot, he's on Clemency 18 months after the DJD and the Scavengers left. I don't think it's possible that a single Cybertronian didn't die in 18 months.
Yeah, I guess it's wishful thinking that no one dies in 18 months. Oh well, that's the beauty of such great writing....you can't help but keep reading.
By Apeface, do you mean Horri-bull? cuz he got his head blown off by bumblebee with the ID chip thing.
That doesn't really work, since Rung's survival was considered a miracle. And just because your spark is intact doesn't mean you're okay. Rossum's trinity, man. Plus, unlike Rung, I doubt they recieved immediate medical attention. Also, I have a feeling the Necrobot's list may not be all it's cracked up to be, since I like to think Robert's is above just spoiling deaths like that since now I'm less inclinded to be invested in these characters if they just end up dying. It just makes it a checklist of who's next, and I really hate that. It doesn't create suspense, just frustration because they're ruining potential stories. I like James Roberts a lot, and he's hands down my favourite TF writer of anything, and needs to be in charge of TF stories overall like for realsies, but his obsession with death is kind of a problem. Death is okay sparingly, but there's way too many bodies dropping in TFs these days.
The Necrobot only added Flywheels to the list after "it" confirmed his death 18 months after the fact. So yeah, I'm thinking Ultra Magnus and Co wouldn't get added to that list before being confirmed as well. I'm wondering if the list is in chronological order. Basically, if Hound gets offed, I'm going to start and get very nervous about Chromedome!
I'm certain that the Necrobot and his list aren't all that they seem. James is just playing with us, aren't you James? James...?
Maybe we're looking at this backwards. Maybe it's a list of who's yet to die? Maybe he wasn't adding Flywheels' name, but he was about to delete it?
Yeah, I put Rung's survival down to him being shot with a rivet gun as opposed to an explosion designed to kill with the chips. Dipstick was the one that stood out to me as odd, is he on the Lost Light or do we even know where he is right now ?
He was in the audience of Rodimus' speech at the beginning of #1 (with Xaaron), but I don't recall seeing him on board unless I missed him in the backrground of a panel.
The Necrobot is just some horrible joke Roberts is playing on us. There's no way Magnus can die now that he's started smiling, right guys?
Or it could be a time travel plot, these guys chance upon the time machine and got sent back, hence "dead" in our current time
