The set leaks confirmed that there'll be a new Decepticon that's on a league of his own so there's a lot of ideas about what role he'll play and here is some of them.

    1. He's the three headed dragon: Supposing if Megatron isn't the dragon there's a good chance the dragon can be the new Decepticon. I mean there's not other explanation I can give to it.

    2. He could possibly have broken ties with Megatron and his Decepticons: We know from the brand's history Megatron has dealt with Decepticons going against him and even to his army of Decepticons in some manner aside from Starscream like Shockwave from the Marvel comics and,Overlord and the DJD in IDW for example so who's to say that what happened between them resulted in the new Decepticon breaking away from Megatron's orders and forming his own Decepticon army to go against him and he's been doing it through the ages? Would explain the medieval scene in the trailer.

    3. He's actually the one controlling Optimus: We have theories that either Unicron or the Quintessons are controlling Optimus but what if it wasn't either of them? What if the new Decepticon was the one pulling at Optimus's strings and he was using him to help bring Cybertron back with obviously at the expense of everyone else around him even to his own faction? That is something I can see happening.

    4. He's either a new character or an old one. It's possible that this decepticon can be either a brand new character or someone from the brand's history redone here. Like he could be either a take on Cybertron Scourge,TFP Predaking or even Bruticus who we did get a dragon former with that name before.

So what do you think? What are your theories on the new Decepticon?

Where did you hear it from? If that's the case it's a cool nod to Cybertron Scourge.

It could be the dragon, but I think it's something else.

I doubt it's Megatron since he wouldn't be a new type of Decepticon. Ditto to Onslaught and company.

I doubt it's the Quintessons since they are not Decepticons. I do think it's likely the new villain is connected in some way to the Quints though

I'm thinking along the lines of a group that is related to the Decepticons, but aren't traditional Decepticons. I am thinking something along the lines of the G2 Cybertronian Empire, maybe with its leader as Jhiaxus or Liege Maximo.

The G2 Cybertronians had Decepticon origins, but were opposed to their ancestral faction and considered themselves superior to other Transformers. This would go along with "a new form of Decepticon." Since they saw themselves as superior they could view themselves as the true Cybertronians as envisioned by the Quintessons and allied with them.

Since Liege Maximo said that Jhiaxus' forces were only a fraction of his strength having G2-ish Cybertronians could go along with Lockdown's whole thing about most species having no idea how big the universe actually is.

Additionally, remember how Barricade's TLK bio referred to him as a "Duplicitous Decepticon sentry?" That makes it sound as if he's two faced and is involved with more than one faction. He may be connected in some way, especially given the fact that he was seen a lot on set, so he plays at the very least a notable role.

I will say this much. Just like AOE gave all of the main Autobots time to shine I do think this film will give several villainous aliens time to shine and interact with each other, including probably Megatron, Barricade, the Quintessons, and maybe even Onslaught and a few others. Hopefully.

I'm still betting my money that he is a Predacon or Predaking. And he wanted to lead the Decepticons but Megatron was always obviously, the leader so he left and went solo
