This thread is an opinion towards the characters. Did you like their potrayal or do you something to comment about them? My opinion: Yeah, I liked them. They were way better than the Twins despite those attitudes........ My opinion is a bit mixed. I liked Roadbuster........
First fiction I've seen them as a group and not just claiming the big green goofball in Prime is one. They were meh. They didn't do anything that any other Bot couldn't do. Topspin and Roadbuster's designs were pretty cool.
They were okay. I liked their voices. They didn't feel very Wreckery to me though. I would've liked to have seen them a bit more front and centre, maybe for a special mission or something.
I'm a big Wreckers fan and while I enjoyed the DOTM incarnation of them, they really didn't have much in the way of a personality. Once again they weren't even named, and they didn't really do anything important aside from free Optimus and distract Shockwave. I'd have liked to seen them take on a real black-ops mission, like their comic counterparts. Wreckers are the perfect Bay bots in many aspects so i'd hope that they carry over into TF4 and have a more significant role.
I loved the Wreckers, and I really hope they're in the fourth movie! I at least want some new toys of them.
They were pretty cool. Rough-and-tumble battlehungry enthusiastic engineers who love ripping and biting apart unfortunate pilots, pimping out their car modes with an inordinate amount of weapons and gleefully taking on even Shockwave or the crazy Devcon. As Soundwaverulls and SS NZ stated, though, their role was rather limited and didn't add much, other than freeing Optimus. Still, I liked what screentime they had, and I liked their designs
I loved the Wreckers. They could've done more, but nope. I loved the scene of them putting bullets into Shockwave.
They spoke in cool UK accents instead of speaking like hillbilly rednecks especially considering the designs. I'm glad we're moving pass the obvious. Leadfoot has to become a legit wrecker in the comics. I just loved him the most and it breaks my heart his deluxe figure got cancelled.
I thought it was great when they ripped that Con limb from limb. We are a NASCAR house and have bought several of their toys from the movie. Still need to find a discounted Target exclusive Human Alliance one.
The Leadfoot Human Alliance toy is pretty cheap on eBay right now, FWIW. Personally, I loved the characters, but felt like they had virtually no development, a fact I think we can all agree on. How awesome would it have been to watch them walk down Wacker Drive, shrugging off Decepticon fire and laying down just barrels of whoop-ass and wisecracking the whole time. Optimus could have had a building fall on him instead of getting, angled in cables, and the Wreckers could have freed him with a careful combination of judicious engineering analysis and heavy weapon fire. Fun. I've never read about the Wreckers in the comics, so I can't say if the DOTM guys compare, but I just would have liked to see more of them. Topspin talking would have been nice, at least.
While the characters didn't get too much time to develop or even tell us what a "Wrecker" is, I did like the fact that they were a more serious addition to the Autobots. Versus the Twins who were straight up kid service.
You should really do yourself a favour and track down some Wrecker-centric comics, the Marvel UK stuff and the more recent Last Stand of the Wreckers from IDW. As fun as the DotM guys were the Wreckers have had some much better outings in the comics. It might've been cool to have had a one-shot IDW comic about the Bay Wreckers to expand and develop them better. Unless they're in TF4 I guess that opportunity has come and gone now.
Like just about every Movie Transformer: +Awesome designs +Killer toys +Interesting bios -Terrible portrayal in the actual film +I'd love to see another series take a go at them The Wreckers really seemed like an afterthought. The Dreads, Devastator, even Que had their own moments, but the Wreckers were just there. Really, I was far more excited about Epps returning than the Wreckers debuting.
I didn't like them. Big missed opportunity to bring more variety and military altmodes to the Autobots : - military helicopter - military armoured car - some kind of jet like Breakaway was.
I liked them as characters and Autobots, but nothing really seemed to define them as 'Wreckers', save for their tricked-out vehicle modes.
Ah, Knoted. I do so wish your vision came to fruition and we had Breakaway or Warpath or some other military Autobot.
They were cool. I mean...they're triggerhappy UK redneck robots that transform into Nascar stock cars that are covered in nothing but guns and bombs AND they have a robot pit bull for a pet. What's not to like!?
