So it just dawned on me that being the NASCAR-bots that they are, what are the odds of us seeing screen acurate toys? Covered in product logos and names like that, each copyright holder would need to be consulted when the chracted changes media. I doubt that Hasbro will be willing to cough up the cash to Gillette and Lowes just to make a movie accurate figure. A Target exclusive red Wrecker would make sense but I fear for screen accuracy in my new movie toys.
I think they could get a deal worked out considering how much a "cheap pop" those cars being in the movie would already be...... And who is 2 say they dont have some sort of deal...
Well, considering Bay's relationship with the military and the fact that the National Guard car is represented, I'd say that one's a safe bet to be made at least.
There are PLENTY of liscenced NASCAR toys out there, I'm sure some similar deal is not too hard to come by for Hasbro. If Mattel can make a small Dale Jr car, so can Hasbro, I'm sure, if they wish to.
They'll probably just go the g1 route and misspell the sponsor name while alluding to them, like g1 Mirage had 'Citanes' instead of Gitanes. Problem solved.
Why would Hasbro have to pay money to make miniature representations of advertisements? Race cars probably have some sort of licensing agreement allowing the reproduction of such product placement advertising logos for merchandising. But yeah, if they could otherwise just do generic fake logos and such, so long as the characters have the same colour schemes.
There is a ton of NASCAR toys out there already with corporate logos all over them. Oh wait I think they call them collectibles since they get upset when you call them toys. But yea part of the reason a sponsor will pay to slap their logo on a car is that they know not only is their brand seen on TV race day but there logo is also going to appear on toys, tee shirts, and just about anything else they can slap a representation of the car on. The sponsor knows they get more than just race day for their advertising dollar.
It probably will boil down to money. Though I can't help but feel the Target-hooded Wrecker will be an exclusive of that chain store.
I have no wories that they can get the adds... Matel makes replica toys of NASCARS all the time, Hasbro can do it.
Um...I'm confused. Why would Hasbro be paying any of the corporate sponsors? You know, the people who pay money to have their logos on the cars. If these cars are reproduced into toys, wouldn't the corporations are going to look at it as free advertising?
I'm less worried about product placement for the Wreckers, and more worried about Rollbar (The Red Jeep) and the guy who built him. Have you guys seen Tommy Built's website and the, uhhh, devices that he sells? I wonder if those logos will make it on to the toys.
I am 100% sure that if they are in the movie that Hasbro and M. Bay already have permission from all of the Sponsors and owners with a nice little percentage of the toy profits already carved out to the side for each.
So the Wreckers will be $15.99 deluxes lol I really hope theyhave to fudge the names, then FansProject can point and laugh
A) Fictitious product labels on the cars B) Reprolabels Either way, we'll probably end up getting screen-accurate Wreckers at some point.
yeah I want those nascars/bots to be the stunticons that form menasor with motormaster & another stunticon. when I think of wreckers I think of outer space futeristic alt modes or military type alt modes.
