A while back I did the best TFP Voyger thread, now I give you it's evil brother, the WORST TFP voyager ever. Go ahead now. Take your pick. I'm saying RiD Bulkhead. SUCH a downstep from the FE.
Gonna say Bulkhead. That shit's ugly. At least with Optimus Prime he looks passable if you paint him, but paint alone doesn't save Bulkhead. If FE Bulkhead didn't exist I...still wouldn't like him. The toy by itself just doesn't look good. Plus, FE Bulkhead does exist. There's no reason to get PRID Bulkhead. That makes it even worse. If I could vote again I'd say Unicron.
I'd say prid bulkhead as well, it just looks nothing like in the show, the FE bulk on the other hand, looks amazing.
PRID bulkhead's arms, legs, and head actually are more show accurate than FE. FE just has a more show accurate torso and cooler transformation..
As nice of a figure that PRID Bulkhead is, he's just so inaccurate, that alone is bad, but the FE shows that Hastak has the engineering to do it, it's like a big mac commercial, it looks so nice at first, but at some point they swap it out with shit.
Definitely Bulkhead. RID Prime and RID Starscream aren't as good as their FE versions, but they're decent and have good things going for them - Optimus has a nice truck mode and Starscream has accurate missiles. Bulkhead has no redeeming qualities. So glad I have the FE.
Out of the 3 I own(PRiD SS and BH and FE Prime) I say Starscream. His ankle kibble and waist are what make me vote for him. I don't get the hate for Bulkhead. The FE is probably better but that doesn't make the PRiD one a piece of shit. He's a good and fun figure and I love it. edit* I also own Megatron. Forgot about him. He's bad ass though.
I dunno I like all the ones I bought. The ones I didn't buy I didn't think looked that good: Bulkhead, Starscream, Ultra Magnus and Optimus.
As much as I love beast mode transformers, Thundertron. I have TFP Ultra Magnus, Prime, Bulkhead, Megatron, and Dreadwing along with it. I find all them to be much better than Thundertron. It has poor head movement thanks to the long beard and the beast mode is a brick since the front legs can't move at all. Sure the figure looks cool, but I prefer fun over cool factor. Which is why I love the Ultra Magnus figure the most.
Unicron. The robot mode is really neat and the "face-mountain" mode, while a bit quirky, is kind of cool. However, the "armor" mode is not only pointless and looks terrible, but all the joints and engineering necessary to get the figure to transform into that configuration take away a lot from the other two (decent) modes.
I voted for Starscream just because I thought it was a waste to make a Voyager SS. The FE version is damn near perfect.
Unicron is the worst. Armor mode makes no sense. Face volcano might be the worst alt mode of the year. He only has a passable robot mode with the lack of a real set of arms. Bulkhead might be miles away from The fe version but at least he has a good altmode and passable robot mode.
Unicron. The figure doesn't have much going for it other than being a figure of Unicron from the show and a combining gimmick.
yes! no votes for breakdown and dreadwing! You know the funny part about that? They got killed and then got the better figures! I don't have any of the voyagers so I can't vote.
I would have voted for Breakdown, but Unicron's just slightly more of a piece of shit than him. Breakdown feels fragile as hell, made out of ultra thin plastic compared to the other voyagers in the line, has some really terrifying transformation bits (bending elbows backwards), awful stickers, and the way his legs are sculpted give him an odd stance. Unicron... his alt mode is nothing (space cruiser my ass) his armor mode is crap, and in robot mode he's got awful knees, and if you look at his back you have a stupid giant face staring at you.
