Wrong thread, you want this one: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/461621-best-brick.html
I give Broadside the advantage, because it even looks somewhat like a brick.
Energon Wing Saber was quite a brick, especially considering the time of his release.
yeah.. he's a cylinder.
Machine Wars Starscream
Does that seriously qualify him as a brick now? His articulation may not be the best, but he's far from being the worst.
these with the duocons and firecons
Half the G1 figures could feature in this but I'd have to say Twin Twist, Runabout and Runamuck. I used to love the latter's car modes but their robots where awful. Twin Twist was just awful. Period. Probably worst transformation ever too whilst you at it.....that was his articulation....transforming!
Special mention goes to G1 Fort Max, IMO if it wasn't for his size and some gimmicks he'd be nothing. In fact, take an actual brick, add a smaller brick ontop and there you have your new Fort Max!!
As much as i like the toy, i'm wondering if Super God Ginrai is a contender..... it even has bricks for feet.
Leader Prime is not a brick. So why does putting a Jetpack on it turn it into a brick?
Or is your issue with the toy something else?
As qouted by the threadstarter:
Its not the literal "brickiness" (shape-wise) thats being discussed here, but the lack of basic articulation for the toy. I believe putting on jetfire on leader Prime restricted most of his pose-ability.
He's not so much a brick as he's a block - and even his transformation is pretty much just "tip him over onto his belly".
I'm around long enough to not actually take the term brick literally, even though my comparing Super God Ginrai's feet to actual bricks may infer otherwise.
Jetwing Prime's..........errrr...."Jetwing" might limit stability a little, but i'm really not sure how adversely it affects the articulation of Prime itself, a toy whilst not massively articulated, is still at least reasonably articulated.
Grandus belongs in the best brick thread. He has gear-driven moving antennae!
Even as a kid with an imagination, I just didn't like Hot Rod when i got it 29-years ago. His transofrmation wasn't the worst because of the chest flip, but the articulation was total crap. Hell, most of G1 had crap articulation, but at least some of them could be playable.
Edit: Foster- who is that in your sig? She pleases the eyes.
Armada Scavenger and (even though I LOVE him) Powermaster Prime.
That's Karen Gillian, british actress. She's on the new Doctor Who.
In G1, you find your articulation where you can. I remember finding a lot more play value in Powerglide and Sandstorm than in some of the others in ther assortment, since they could turn their heads. Hell, Warpath had chest articulation because of his turret, and he didn't even have seperate feet!
Yea, Armada Scavenger takes it.
Yup this would have been my answer too.
Grandus wins here!
Separate names with a comma.
