If the last 2 attempted spinoffs failed, why do they think a 3rd one will succeed? But then again I guess the 3rd time's the charm.
Word is JP has no idea about this, and neither did MC. Which is cold. Supernatural ran as long as it did and worked as well as it did thanks to the Sam and Dean chemistry, and the addition of Castiel. The idea they wouldn’t even get a heads up has me very skeptical about this.
I’m surprised Ackles wants to spend even more time in the Supernatural universe. It’s been 15 years & just as many seasons. I mean, whatever pays the bills, I guess. But damn.
Plus knowing how Supernatural ended Spoiler It would make more sense with Sam being the narrator telling stories to his son because Dean’s dead.
It’s an odd choice considering he’s not hurting for money. He’s going to be in season 3 of The Boys, and he’s still probably making money off of Dean Winchester merchandise. Granted, if he’s producing this show, he gets a larger share of the profits too, and of all the spin offs they have tried previously, the premise of this one makes the most sense. What’s even crazier is that Jared and Jensen are apparently neighbors, so that kinda makes the blindside even more strange.
That didn't take long. Like seriously WB, you let the show run itself into the ground for 10 years, give it a rest for a bit.
Wait, when you say Winchesters, do you mean Sarah Winchester who was haunted by ghosts and built that crazy mansion?
That's who I thought of first. Could you imagine if weapon makers really were haunted by the ghosts of all those killed by their wares? We'd never have wars again.
I'd wager it actually is unless they end it with an Angel erasing John and Mary's memories before their encounter with Anna and Michael.
Spoiler So they recognise Dean Winchester milling around the background in a photo. It lends to the theory this is a universe removed from Supernatural's and if I were to guess, Dean has been playing god here only he's once more unleashed something.
Spoiler Last week we had Rowena, this week we had Dean, Bobby and Jack and it's revealed that this is indeed an alternate universe and the Akrida were Chuck's backup plan to destroying universes. Many guessed that it was from the start since it doesn't mesh with what had been established in the original show but it's nice of them to reveal that so we can have proper stakes instead of 'will John succumb to the poison? of course stupid, this is a prequel' cliff-hangers. The series needed that breathing room.
‘The Winchesters’ Canceled By The CW After One Season, ‘Supernatural’ Prequel Will Be Shopped I didn’t hate the series. It felt like Supernatural without interesting leads.
