I’m nearing the finish line for Velocitron Wave 1. Finally found Cosmos, just need Override now

I checked Brickseek at noon and saw my local Walmart had 6+ deluxes. I decided to check it out but saw the usual Road Rocket/Burnout/Blurr x4, Clampdown x1, Road Hauler x8. I looked up and saw a pile of more Deluxes, spotting something green

I finally found a worker to pull it down for me and got Cosmos. Luckily I didn’t need anything else because she was using a metal rod to poke at them

 

Huh. My delayed-until-October order has shipped Override today. Still no movement on Cosmos though.

That said, I already found Override so if anyone here wants this second one before I return it, I can send it at cost + shipping

Same boat, but and Hauler and Burnout to the list. The only reason I don’t cancel these figures is because I’m missing Cosmos and I don’t want to give Wal-Mart an excuse to cancel shipping him.

 

Pretty much my reasoning as well, especially since if I cancelled Override, then my order would've been just Cosmos, which would've put the order below the free shipping threshold. I didn't need any extra games on top of the ones Walmart were already playing lol

 

My Burnout preorder seems to have shipped, arriving on Wednesday.

Very interesting to see Deluxe preorders are starting to go our! No movement on Cosmos, of course, I don't expect that to be fulfilled in the end.

 

Still looking for a little green crockpot to call my own if anyone has seen one in the wild and doesn't want/need it. Willing to pay cost + shipping or trade for something off my listing!

Needless to say, this is f'ing ridiculous. I am so done with Walmart. This is my pre-order that I made literally the minute the page went up. It was the only figure I was even looking to get from this collection. And this is what I got, even though I made sure to select the option to not replace any of my items, and they did it anyway. This is after I ordered Override for pick up three times, and every time they cancelled order. I've checked 4 Walmarts in my area and I haven't seen Override once. So I'm done. I'll eat the extra $7 shipping from Pulse with a smile, and I'm going to avoid buying any TFs from Walmart again.

Their strategy had been working - TFs were quite literally the only reason I went to Walmart. Now I will make it a point to not go there and simply go without their exclusives or get them from Hasbro Pulse. Sure, it won't matter at all to the multi billion corporation, but it matters to me. The way they've handled their exclusives makes me want to never do business with them again.

 

Same. Just to reinforce the point to myself, on the rare occasion they get me to check in-store for exclusives, I go in through automotive and back out the same way. Not that I'm given to impulse purchases, but since they think this is going to result in more of them, I remove the possibility altogether.

 

That sucks man. I saw override in store and put him/her back. Then i forgot to cancel my 1st day preorder. It shipped in a plastic bag. Box is smashed. Will chat with cs and see what can be done.

 

Put me down on the list for Cosmos too,no luck what so ever even with 5 Walmarts near me. Willing to pay cost,shipping and even throw in some gas money for your trouble. Any help is appreciated.

 

My Override arrived today and her eyes looked eff'd up. The left one is chipped and the right one isn't fully filled in. A similar thing happened when I ordered Star Convoy. Except his eyes were bigger. Hopefully, I can return this even though I clipped her out of the wraps in the box.

 

Agreed that the hoops we have to go through is absurd. Walmart is the only big store left that can't figure out how to do any of this. Definitely paying the $7 pulse shipping next time Walmart gets a high-demand exclusive.

Obviously the whole "come for the exclusives, stay for impulse buys!" strategy works enough for Walmart to keep doing this shit, but I'm curious how many here actually follow that way of shopping, now that prices have been going up for everything.

Me personally, for the sake of saving gas, I usually only go when I'm on my grocery runs, where I already know what I'm buying. It's not exclusive TFs that are drawing me to the store; more I happen to already be in walking distance, so if there are no exclusive goodies and there isn't anything else there I need, Walmart isn't getting my money.

Trade you my extra Override for Cosmos!

 

This happened with an ER Arcee I bought for about $10 on sale. I ended up very carefully dabbing just a little bit of paint in the eyes. But for over $30, this is not cool.

 

Only saw 3 each of clampdown and cosmos in Chicago area. 2 different stores after multiple visits

 

Saw FiVE Clampdowns in the last Walmart I went to. Someone went through five cases to scalp the Cosmoses...

 

See I would do that except the eyes are on a separate piece within the actual head. And there's no safe way for me to split the front and back parts of the head apart to paint the eyes. I was able to separate the head for Star Convoy only because it was big enough to be held together with a screw. And even then so much of the eyepiece was chipped off that painting it wouldn't solve anything.
