My wife just shared this with me and I thought I'd share it here. It's kinda long but well worth the read. Apologies now to any Wal-Mart fans or employees. http://www.zug.com/pranks/walmart/index.html
Real or Fake, that story had me laughing. Oh just to imagine the chaos that ensued! LOL. Thanks for the read!
I was with him up until part 4 where his *ACTUALLY INTERESTING AND INTELLIGENT* article became a moronic fart joke. I think doing something about the employee theft would have been a much better 'prank' than putting "pron on teh TEEVEE". I mean he could have spied and videotaped someone stealing inventory and played that on the screen.
EPIC RAID!!!!! I was reading this out loud to the roomies and we all LOL'ed... This guy must have massive balls...
This guy managed to get outsmarted by walmart employees, and then subsequently fired, that's pretty damn funny. If he had any sense, he would have spotted the inventory discrepancy by recording the numbers of product that kept disappearing, tracking that, and comparing it to the number sold. Not exactly difficult. His revenge of bothering the walmart electronics department.. yea... ok fine, except those people still have their jobs and didn't manage to get outsmarted by walmart employees and fired.
His revenge wasn't that great. If anything he should have made the computers 90% off and also stole a bunch of things.
Didn't actually read the article did ya? No one was really stealing from the store. The night crew just inflated the inventory to make it look like items where missing, when they really were not. Neither of those things sounds like a particularly good idea if you want to get away with your scheme, or if ya know you don't want to become a thief.
So a computer 90% off won't let you get away with your scheme (when they know who did it all apparently) but 70% will?
Its Fake. 1) the electronics associate cannot leave the department and can only help in outlying areas unless the department is covered by another assoicate (this has since been changed... Im not allowed to leave at all) 2) Only Departement Management has access to changing the in-stock items (I have access to order them thats about it). And theres 2 seperate lists of onhand items and the changes are recorded with who altered them. 3) LOL! NOBODY HAS THANKSGIVING OFF! We usually have people come in earlier than 3am (Those whom do either have it as their normal day off or put in for it a year ago) 4) Unless theres a add or something we never allow that crap that is said over the intercom. (Someone tried this once before... i said hell no and management backed me up on it) 5) Only management and IT have access to our demo comps. and they are locked and no lowly members have access to it. 6) I can beleave the hardcore porn vid. thats been done before. 7) And heres the kicker... he never got paid that less. Average O/N person starts around 8 bucks. PLUS Electronics has a higher paygrade than regular O/N associates.
While hard to believe, if this is true, all he did was screw over everyone BUT the people who got him fired.
To Doom: some stores DO alter their rules, pay, and such on a store by store basis. I also don't recall if there was a date in the article, so this might have happened years ago before any actual rules were put into place. Not saying it's true, but just sayin'. What I can do at my Office Max most likely differs from a bigger Office Max.
that was awesome. Ive switched the 'N" & 'M' keys on my managers computer so he could'nt log the store in (he was a dick), but this kills that
Amusing read. It did seem that his "revenge" didn't really hurt the people he was targeting though. If I am going to take the time to plot revenge, at the very least I am going to make sure it is taken out on someone who pissed me off.
