I'm thinking about starting a Unicron Trilogy collection later this year and want to know your thoughts on:

Energon Rodimus, Energon Downshift, Energon Arcee, and the Cybertron Bendy Prime.

And if I could see them next to Siege Prime or Megatron that would be great.

 

Today I got:

Armada Nemesis Prime - still one of the most awesome figures of 35 years of TFs.
Energon Rodimus - nostalgia hit hard, it was a very original incarnation and still is
Energon Sharkticon
Energon Divebomb

Armada Space Team
Energon Space Team
Cybertron Space Team

Cybertron Giant Minicon Team

 

Arcee and Bendy prime are must have. Few chances to be deceived.

Rodimus and Downshift are like all autobot deluxes, you need to know what you're getting. These are fun to play with, to combine etc. But if you expect items to pose and look great on shelves, these are maybe not the greatest choices.
I like them for the play pattern and I very regularly fiddle with them (more than some more recent lines), but I'll never try to engage a fight to defend them and pretend they looks good.

If you start from scratch , here's what I think your priorities should be : The Unicron Trilogy Appreciation Thread
(just something I forgot to mention on my previous post : I've been near completlist for UT, only missing some exclusives, so these I'm listing are a real filter of the ones I consider very good and important to have, it's not just a list of what I own...)

 

Energon Rodimus is okay. It's an interesting take on the character, but there's a lot of lower legs on him in comparison to his upper body. Still, a very interesting design and something I would love to see them do again in the current lines. Just without the tiny chest and huge lower legs

Energon Downshift: I think his biggest appeal back then was the Wheeljack vibe. His articulation is a bit limited, and like Rodimus, his lower legs are bulky compared to the rest of him. (same reason: because he has to powerlink). I think the Cybertron Downshift is a far, far better figure.

Energon Arcee (can't comment)

Bendy Prime is a very good figure, but I don't think the Cybertron version is the best deco. If you're into Optimus deco's I think the original Armada Bendy is the best, and else look at the Magnus or Nemesis version.

Don't have those

 

Do you have anyone from Siege? If not any of these works: T30 Roadbuster, Whirl, Springer, TM1 Optimus Primal, BW Megatron S1, and BW Airhammer.

 

When I get home I can get you pics of all but arcee

 

I don't have most of those figures, but I can at least do Bendy Prime next to Siege Prime.

Ok guys I've got this dilemma. I've got the Cybertron Runamuck and I find myself wanting one of this molds two other repaints to repurpose as a cybertron Runabout. Who do you guys think looks best with Cybertron Runamuck, Univers Oil Slick, or universe Treadshot?

 

Personally I think Treadshot.

 

There is no good choice.

 

That is why I am asking for help.
