I think it is pretty comparable to Classics Starscream and Earthrise Starscream.
Yeah that is a pretty good comparison.
That the Energon or ROTF release?
I meant with the extra copy of the torso as legs
So I just picked up a Cybertron Leader Optimus after all these years and am wondering what the black buttons on his leg pieces with the cannons do? Instructions don't mention them and neither have any reviews I've watched take any notice of them. Anyone here know?
I'm not sure what you are asking now
It's to help catch the guns so they stay in place, I think, like a pseudo ratchet joint. I know my copy got real loose there
Ah, I thought I needed to press them while to take them on and off his legs but saw pushing them did nothing. Thanks for the info.
Got the big Armada Prime recently.
He's missing a few parts, but was pretty cheap, so I can't complain. I'm kind of glad I didn't pay too much for him, as I don't really like him as much as I thought I would. I think they sacrificed way too much for the gimmick. The deluxe figure is a way more fun toy, despite not having the super-mode.
Even still, I don't regret getting him. It's neat to finally have one. I might still try to track down the smokestacks and head wing things, just so that it displays a bit better.
that pretty much sums up Armada in a nutshell...
I'd love a modernized, fully articulated Superpants Armada Prime though, it was a really unique design despite some of the derpy proportions and execution in the figure.
Takara and FansHobby have upcoming options
As a display piece, I love the guy. As a toy, he falls so short of being awesome with his auto transforming gimmick. No leg articulation, no shoulder articulation (early versions only), and top half is too floppy to pick him up and "play" with him because it will just come apart. Compared to the rest of the Armada line, I wished they added in some sort of minicon "powerup" feature since Sparkplug just sits on his shoulder and does nothing... Also with his "gold elbow joints" I'm afraid that GPS will eventually settle in so I don't touch mine at all.
Although Bendy Prime (the deluxe) is far more articulated which is very welcome, there's one thing about the big one I prefer. He has presence. And I don't mean the aweful combined mode (trailer is somewhere in the attic), but the core robot. With those broad shoulders and bulky arms he just looks incredibly powerful, like a bruiser.
Plus the Final Battle deco is possibly one of my favourite Optimus Prime deco's ever released.
Yeah, I like the design. I'm tempted by that third party version that's supposedly coming out soon. Though I'd rather get that official one we saw the prototype of, if it ever comes out.
Mine is one of the ones with restricted shoulders. It sucks that he can pretty much only move his head and elbows.
I do agree that the regular Prime mode isn't too bad. It's still rather limited, but it looks pretty decent. I might have to look into the other color schemes.
Master Galvatron and Netflix Megatron.
