Took some pics of my unreleased Universe Drench figure today. Absolutely love the really weird colors on him. He is sadly missing one of the missiles but it doesn't detract from how 90's he looks. I would love to some day own the Smokescreen too, but this is awesome for now!

It really is incredible. The whole design is just fantastic.

 

It's a very cool design for Hot Shot, and in some aspects I think this mold holds up great even compare to the newer stuffs we had gotten now. The sculpting, design touches, build, and painting on these vintage UT toys are just unlike anything else HasTak offered nowadays in a good way, and this mold is no exception. I also want the movie Breakway redeco of the mold, because they're all just looks so nice and it's a mold that I love.

IMO, the only thing that was really outdated about these vintage UT toys is their articulation (But even that's debatable from figure to figure). I honestly won't even mind if I just get upgrade kit/custom kit that replaces something like Cybertron Hot Shot's biceps and thighs with ones that have swivels (Thanks to Cybertron Hot Shot using screws, this would be an easy upgrade), rather than risking either HasTak or 3P peoples such as FansHobby attempting to "modernize" a design that doesn't need too much modernizing, to begin with, and lose the entire point of what made people like the original design. Both Override and Metroplex turned out great (And both were perhaps the best of the Legacy UT updates), but both Hot Shot and to a much lesser extent Starscream have just enough flaws to hold them back (I still had no idea what the heck HasTak were smoking when they colored Legacy Armada Starscream the way it is straight OOB, and the less we say about Legacy Hot Shot's legs the better)

I just pray to god and wish that when Legacy Armada Megatron and Prime were revealed, they're both closer to Metroplex and Override quality-wise than either Starscream and Hot Shot, because they're both great designs and deserves great figure that don't have all sorts of flaws that hold them back. I do like both Hot Shot and Starscream despite their issues, but damn I'll be lying if I said they don't have flaws.
