Would love to see a cleaner shot when it's all healed up! Hoping for a speedy recovery man!

Why is this guy so big, without even a single minicon port?

Was playing with my Cybertron Prime today and curiosity hit me. I pulled out an inflation calculator. These two toys are almost the exact same price taking inflation into consideration. We had it pretty good in the AEC days, and I will always love these toys.

Well their retail price remains but I bet material costs have skyrocketed in the interim. Plus they may also be working with greater profit margins

    Dude, this stuff is expensive!
    According to my own counter:
    "
    Armada: 341/341
    Energon: 15/15
    Cybertron: 45/45
    Other: 18/18
    Classic: 92/92
    Lucky Draw: 1/8
    PCC: 32/32
    Other: 22/22
    Total: 566/573
    "

This doesn't take into account unreleased items.

    Thanks for your kind words.
I started again from scratch last April: 16 months and 3 weeks.

What, not gonna gun for all the prototypes of every mold too?
Hot damn dude. I'm not sure if I should envy or pity your wallet for being able to sustain this in such a short amount of time

One day. It's not like I have much else to collect - it's all stupidly expensive at this stage.
I was only able to do this because of Covid. With the lockdown, I spent 18 months indoors, without any international travel or real holiday. Now that travelling is resuming, my budget for plastic toys is slowly returning to "normal".

Fair enough! Do you have any particular minicon you would say is your favorite? And don't give me that "they're like my kids" everyone has a favorite kid.

    Source: am the favorite kid

    Let's see.

    #1 Armada Thunderclash
    #2 Cybertron Jolt
    #3 PCC Chainclaw

the mass release versions of these molds are already cool enough.

But. As a UT toy in general, it's a tie between Blackout and Crumplezone, because of their integration with Demolishor and Cyclonus.

Thunderclash looks great and I agree on the latter two, they integrate so nicely. I remember finding a Blackout at Disney World but never had a Demolishor to pair with him. Cyclonus did Minicons in general

After a very long hunt, I finally got the last Western minicon I was missing.
As an expensive bonus, I also got the entire 2008 BotCon set. Sigh.

Shattered Glass Goldbug is a repaint of Cybertron Hotshot with a new head. It's a Rescue Bot toy in terms of complexity, even in 2005 there was not reason to have such limited articulation, Armada Hoist was much more complex.

Shattered Glass Jazz is a repaint of Cybertron Crosswise with a new head. It completely fails at following the Shattered Glass theme, looking way too much like a normal G1 Jazz. The original deluxe in 2005 was highly praised, but it definitely shows it age - nice gimmick, but proportions are iffy at best.

Shattered Glass Starscream is a repaint of Galaxy Force Starscream. It's one of the best voyagers ever, and the color scheme is glorious. The recent SG Siege Starscream comes close, and it's a decent substitute - I would not spend a fortune just for this.
