He might not have a robot mode, you could see if he transforms into a cassette?

 

As much as it pains me to say this... Masterpiece Ironhide may be the first masterpiece figure that I don't like. The bot mode just has so much wrong with it. The lack of any torso or waist makes it look hollow and the hips could have been so much better.

The alt mode and sled are fine but that bot mode is doing nothing for me  

 

It's the way the front flares out at the sides that kills it, if they folded in or the shoulders sat a bit wider I think it would look alright. I'll still probably pick one up as neither of the 3rd party ones do it for me either.

 

The completist will probably buy 1 Arniehide and that will be it just to say the Car roster is complete. And it will forever sit next to MP10 as a Van. I'm not rewarding half-arsed efforts with a double purchase.

Could be a PCC and just turn into a limb. Have you tried connecting anything to him? There should be a port somewhere or other

 

Go for it if you like mate. I dont mind... I have seen him come up quite allot on the bay. Im hoping to get some of the ones i need in bundles to save on getting them individually which takes a toll eventually.

The other pcc i was after was searchlight. Quite a few legions... Must plan what i want in order of urgency   as im trying to reign it in.

 

don't suppose anyone has seen a RID legion Optimus Prime anywhere recently?

And thanks for the information on the amazon pre-order, I can finally complete my Menasor (and by accounts be disappointed at him compared to the other) and get blackjack at a reasonable price which will lead to me thinking if I should have just bought lonewolf (which seems so-so) from Masterforce instead...

Like others have said - you can't go wrong with Kapow, Masterforce or TFS Express. They are your three UK Transformers retailers, and so official, masterpiece and third party (unofficial, as in not made by Hasbro or Takara) figures. And as they are in the UK delivery will be quick and there's zero risk of import customs fees.

eBay can still be a perfectly decent source of transformers though, but just be sure to take some advice and be careful. Some - but not all - masterpieces have been knocked off, so it is possible to buy a KO passing itself off as an original. Many KOs will actually say so on the listing, while others will not. Is there a particular masterpiece you're interested in?

Also note that some of the KOs are actually pretty decent nowadays, but again, it varies on a case by case basis.

I've gotta says that despite my previously detailed reservations (lion head ball joint, abdomen joint) this is a figure I simply cannot leave alone. He still hasn't graduated from my desk to my display shelf because I want to keep playing.

I'm not sure if fragile is the right word. Weapon mounting pegs aside, I'm not really worried about anything breaking. And the poses you can pull off are simply wonderful.

 

No not really, i only ever see the odd one here and there but havent noticed one for a little while. Even strongarm who was quite plentiful has kinda gone. Legions havent been at a sale price under a fiver anywhere either....

Have you checked, viewed the stock of you local argo's? Ask the till person for a viewing of said item.. I don't have a prime but i may try get one of the other decos latter on. Searching now i am sure you will find one eventually.

Was I a muppet for being too slow in jumping in and getting a MP TT Soundwave for £95?

 

Yeah, there's something not quite right about it. Can't put my finger on exactly what but it doesn't look any better than the iGear one i have. If anything i prefer that one, it also comes with shit tonnes of weapons which is an added bonus.

Most likely i'll end up getting it but more for completions sake than any real love of the figure. Definitely the first masterpiece thats not really hit the mark.

This one i'm really looking forward too. Every pic makes it look better than before. Invisible may be getting relegated to alt mode once Sphynx arrives as its too good a figure to move on though.
