Bit late to the party but I just bought the first three Nottlebots from evilbay.

Anyone got the full set yet?

How's the quality on the more recent ones?

Is the combined mode worthwhile or an unnecessary addition?

    Cheers for any feedback.

    Yes.

Quality on last three is the same as the first.....very good. Combined form is big, imposing and also pretty good. Actually seems to hold it's weight/mass better than the likes of Rex and Intimidator but is totally ignorable if not your thing, they are six great Carbots on their own.

For me I'd like to see Runabout and Runamok come from the Prime Frenzy/Rumble mold. Makes them a good size in both modes to tussle with Classics Bumblebee and Cliffjumper.

They were certainly trying my patience. The first one lifted off the paper, but then it wasn't cut fully so got stuck, and before I knew it was wrapping itself all kinds of ways.

Only bought it for the wings, the rest probably won't be used but the wings just add a lot extra to his jet mode.

Some of them. I am not big on all of the extra toy detailing, so am picking and choosing but I did grab the ones for Alpha Bravo too.

As he had been evicted from the Aerialbots upon Slingshots arrival, I figured he deserved some labels to cheer him up, and they really do a great job.
    Especially the Black window stickers.

    Cheers mate.

They've been hovering just off my radar since the first one came out but £90 shipped for the first three was too good to pass up and a nice quick way to catch up.

Unless I hate them in hand for some crazy reason, I'm gonna order 4,5 and 6 from tfs-express so should have them next month.

As much fun as two years of anticipation can be, I did it with Rex, it's nice to have a quick turn around between interest and completion.

I already have two limbs for Menasor, just need the other three and the torso to complete my Stunticons

I already have Blackjack and have no intention of grabbing Prime or the Legends Hot Rod. They just don;t do anything for me.

If you used wild rider and streetwise as the base and gave them dead end heads with a little bit of paint for the details it probably would be quite an easy custom.

Hahaha. Yeah. Their set for Toyworld's Orion is probably one of their higher end pieces with a vinyl feel to them, and they are fuckers to apply. The end result redefines the figure - seriously, the silver ends up looking like paint/tampographed - but wow they are hard to manage.

I'm tempted by Takara's Battlechargered Blackjack but not without the guarantee of his accompanying 'bro'.

That is one of those, where if I owned the toys I would have to buy the Reprolabels. It does make it look the utter golden coated balls.

There are tiny triangles for Alpha Bravo that go over the back of his fist between the missiles. They are so small, and it is so tough to navigate the sticker in there, that I gave up in the end.....well after I lost one. Don't even know how.

I am still slightly in love with this Yellow sod

So peeps in the UK sightings thread are wondering what happens to unsold stock? For small vendors I guess it just sits there, but what about big shops like Argos, TRU and the supermarkets?

Does Hasbro rebuy it and sell to overseas territories? Or just move it around countries within Hasbro Europe? Or do shops like TRU just sell it on themselves to places like Home Bargains? Inquiring minds want to know.

Plus I bought the big Construct-bots Dinofire Grimlock from TRU for £15. Considering the CGI model is such a mess it almost works for the Construct-bot guy. He does have a neat light up mouth missile firing gimmick though, even if it doesn't quite shoot the missiles clear of his mouth.

I suspect in the case of large chains like TRU, the stock is returned to the distributors who then shift it on to the discount retailers. Stock that isn't merchandised that is.

I think that is evidenced by the stock that TRU does hang onto, which will often stay on the pegs for years.

Occasionally stock gets sold-on from front line retail to discounters but on "premium" or licensed toys this doesn't happen much anymore. The Discounters usually source gray-market batches from overseas, like the current glut of two year old voyagers suddenly appearing in B&M and Home Bargains. Stuff bought in bulk from North America or Asia because they don't want it.

Otherwise stuff tends to sit in TRU for a couple of years and usually they would rather dump it to landfill (still, even though this is now expensive to do) than discount deeply as happens in American retail.

Somewhere there is a corner of our Septic Isle that is buried Star Wars Lambda Shuttles and Han Solo on a Tauntaun from the late 90's.

All in the name of "preserving the market" in the UK, which is different in just about every way to Europe and the U.S. About half the members on this Board wouldn't be in this hobby if they had to cope with a retail proposition and prices like ours.

B&M and home bargains buy it, theres also a few small discount stores near me that sometimes get tru exclusive figures in.... theyre like poundland but slightly more expensive and smaller chains. I have that grimlock set, optimus is a bit naff, but grimlocks not too bad, its frickin huge in bot mode.

It'll have changed by now, but back in the Armada days I was friendly with a Hasbro Rep, and witnessed him ripping Armada Scavengers out of their boxes and throwing them in a big box in the boot of his car. There were at least 30-40 of them in the box. He'd just collect then from TRU, in exchange for boxes of next wave Max-cons. In that case it was the Overload wave.
He said they'd be returned to distribution for donation to charity or other uses.

Really wish there was a version of Generations Sandstorm that didn't have Yellow or Yellowy Orange on him. I love the G1 toys colour scheme so much the new versions unnecessary yellow pushes me away it's too similar to Springer and imo doesn’t suit Sandstorm.

Blimey, Utopia looks incredible. Big monies though! Although I will spend those sorts of amounts on TFs in a heartbeat when I have the cash I've never plucked up the courage to drop that much on a single figure. Highest I've ever gone was £200 for Quakewave.
