Never seen Kiss play, but I've always thought they were very overated.

The transformation is horrific. Some dude in the Apollyon thread claimed he had it down to five minutes. Which is obviously just tremendous bullshit. Am pondering trying it for a second time but bending a bit out of shape on my first effort (coupled with the general sub-standard quality) has certainly put me off...

Don't get me wrong though, he looks the absolute nuts. Just don;t chuck him about oo much.

Is this the War In Pocket-size Cyclonus?
If it is and his hands are about lego standard 3mm you could try a lego ninja sword from the Ninjago Lego, that's what my mini-Bludgeon is wielding.

I saw Apollyon (Dan's) recently and thought the head sculpt was amazing. Chest, shoulders, arms etc were really spot on in their aesthetics. The shoulders popping off during posing irritated me endlessly, but I understand he comes with replacement ones that are tighter, but do they allow for a free-er range of lateral movement?

I thought the side flaps on the waist were gigantic and my eyes were continuously drawn to them, but the hands were pretty awesome. The fusion cannon is mental, but obviously its weight affects the posing of the right arm.

Seriously how good is that head sculpt.

The feet and lower legs I didn't bond with but as Dan explained, MP-5 didn't do a whole lot better and it's what you are going to get when Megatron transforms into a gun and still needs to be a toon accurate robot.

Overall, seeing it in hand I can say it's not for me. I couldn't justify the price for it to sit there on my shelf and never be transformed - plus not quite fully tick the aesthetics box for what I would want a MP style Megatron to look like and be capable of. The fact is though I paid the same for Stealth Azalea, and given the choice again today I may opt for Apollyon instead as it seems more worth that kind of money, but as it stands it's not a purchase I want to make right now. I'm glad I've seen it in hand before making a decision.

It's very easy for me to see why so many people are mad for it, though. Different aesthetic preferences - just slightly to the left or right of mine - would probably have meant an instant hit and ticks in every box. That's all that's needed for a purchase, and transformation and alt mode wouldn't have even factored for people (myself included) under those circumstances.

So I decided fish out all of the Feralcon's swords and stuff out of my random storage box and reassemble his sword. That thing is still huge.

You have made me want them....must...resist....weekend purchase...

    It is huge.

I have Feral Rex on my computer desk purely because both he and his sword don't fit on any of my shelving units.

My mate told me that Feral Rex was amazing, looked like a Power Ranger and that his sword 'should fuck off, it's too big'. I appreciated that from a man who tries to marry the movie continuity with Beast Wars and MTMTE with Dreamwave. He's obsessed with continuity. Multiverse? Just being their own thing? It kills him.

I still haven't tried the 2 sword set up yet, I'll have to have a go at it at some point but yes, it is a very cool looking sword.

He's on the shelf above my computer - one day he will fall down and kill me with that sword...

    ...I'm ok with this.

That should serve as a great conversation piece at the funeral.

3rd Party Krang has me wishing for that holiest of grails, Gloria Baker and The Shark. Well just the Shark really as we got a Gloria with The Stiletto. And after that Galadria and Virulina.

And did someone mention Hentai? I think they did. Ever so slightly related I was listening to a Retronauts podcast on which Jaz Rignall was a guest. He shared a story of when the company behind Manga Video sent him and the staff of EMAP a large collection of Japanese OAVs asking advice on which they thought would be the most successful to release.

The staff saw Urotsukidoji and understandably thought 'what the hell is this?'. They then as a joke suggested to Manga Video to release it thinking there was no way something like this would ever be released in the UK. Manga Video thought they were being sincere, released it to cult status and now we all know that tentacles aren't something we just find on snails.

I've got the white set coming and hopefully grab a black set at TFCon.
Might get the purple set if I end up getting Menasor.

having both CW superion and menasor, I always thought superion was a must have, and menasor looked ridiculous... after having both in hand, aside from menasors flimsy thighs, I am really appreciative and glad I picked him up... a hulking behemoth menasor next to a spindly-but-accurate superion.

I'd recommend picking menasor up while you can, and the new legends hotrod (blackjack repaint) for your optimus.

sadly, I am still debating brake-neck and quickslingers cost - 65.00 shipped for 2 deluxe figures is double retail... I think AB and OR hold their places nicely when factoring the cost.

unfortunately I missed out on the 2 unite sets from AE - at that cost, I literally was "a day late".

I still have a Unite Superion on order from Anime Export that I have been offering to folks at cost, that offer is still open. The only issue is you'd be responsible for covering not just the £61 GBP of Unite Superion, but shipping to me and then to you. If interested, drop me a PM :thumb
