Feeling pretty good today. Brought the accounting books for my side-hustle up to date, cooked a credible chicken tandoori traybake, and sold a couple of things as well - meaning I'm almost at a saving goal that will let me tick an important Transformer off my list. (I'm at the stage where the only cheap ones are nice-to-haves, rather than wants!)

As well as transforming (hah) property into money, I'm also reducing clutter. The new space is helping me visualise what my room will be like when redecorated and shelved and all the robots back out on display.

And! Tomorrow I am meeting some forumites (plus a selection of descendants) and we're going along to this 40th anniversary lark. I'm not expecting anything more than a cheesy old cartoon in good company, so hopefully I'll enjoy it more than some of you lot did :)

I've just figured out my "Good Gal" Junkion's name, I did a dictionary search for words that contain "-nance", and the obvious one I just couldn't bring to mind when mulling it over was "Maintenance", and I thought "High Maintenance" or "Nancy" for short might work - but it lacked a little something, and could be read without the intended tongue-in-cheek (and maybe even ironically still a bit sexist). Ultimately it didn't seem vehicular, or "Junky" enough!

A quick peek at Axlegrease's Bio and the reference to her having quite an arsenal of weaponry sparked an idea for a different tack - she's an "Interceptor" with quite a few weapons herself so why not the rather more punny HIGHWAY ORDINANCE, or "NANCY" for short!

So that's the name sorted but "Nancy"s not done yet, I've had enough of those triple exhaust pipes so I'm taking them out of her loadout BUT there isn't anything I can think of to substitute for them to balance out the deduction as yet!

Christ. Just enough time to finish SS86 before starting a new TT:TM line. Then go back to 1984 again for the 45th anniversary. Then...

Isn't there already a Nancy-Junkion? I'm sure I remember someone mentioning her and me having to look up who she was...?

I think it was about £15 fees but a lot of it was admin fees. Not sure what the price is on Baba but was happy with what I paid. Shipping was free for some reason.

Yeah, the name the Japanese continuity gave Wreck Gar's missus from 'The Big Broadcast of 2006' but frankly it's a pants name for a Transformer, and specifically for Junkion as they are usually junk-y or punny, or both! HIGHWAY ORDINANCE is my collection's "Nancy" for my Wreck Gar, until/unless Mark & Co. make me an official one!

Hey all, it's been a wee while, how's things?

I saw the 40th event today! Agree with the consensus I'm seeing on here - was a nice novelty, and the live reading was fun, but I can't help but wish it was the movie. Only vocoding half of Frank's Soundwave lines was very strange.

Very few people in my screening, but I think that speaks to Everyman pricing more than it does general interest!

    In any mode in particular?

Quick shot of Ignis in bot mode alongside the biggest thing to hand, MakeToys Thunder Manus.

    EDIT: I lied, I have a T30 Metroplex.

Needs the aerial gluing back on but to say I designed it myself I'm pretty happy with that.

40th event was pretty decent. Didn't realise that only the first episode was table read voice acted which was a bit of a cop out. Frank Todaro was amazing as starscream and wheeljack and pretty much any voice he did. All the legends were great however Greg Berger's spike was probably the worst as a really awful whiny teenager. What also shocked me was no post producttion on the voices so not synced up to lip flaps and no vocoder effect on soundwave etc.

Overall though good fun, shame they didn't have the promo drinks cup or popcorn bucket.

There was only one dude in the cinema other that our party too which seemed a real shame but we did get talking to the guy a bit who was a fellow fan so that was nice.

Thanks! Now I got a good idea.
It's really cool. I can't afford it (= opening the gate to 3rd party combiners is a no-no) but it's really cool.

Dude, it's funny you say that, I was just thinking last week about how much I appreciate the unexpected little endorphin hit of a Doucoo comment on an old pic!

    Always appreciate you bud!

I retook that M.A.S.K. pic btw. I'm still not satisfied with my lightbox skills, I have much to learn from the talented photographers here - I ended up going with a backdrop and lighting I'm much more comfortable with:

In other exciting toy news, turns out my mum's still buying me Transformers for my birthday even at the age of forty:

I received the Armada version on my 20th birthday, I'm guessing for my 60th, it'll be self transforming?

5 Shanix to whoever can identify "Cybertron":
