Honestly it's just gonna be the nature of the beast with Broadside isn't it? He turns into either a tiny aircraft carrier or a humongous jet. Out of all the Triple Changers he's always gonna be the one whose modes will suffer the most, even in a series where most Triple Changers have one mode that suffers for the benefit if the others. Hell even guys like Sixshot have an easier time.

Speaking of suffering, due to work system issues yesterday they wanted everyone the office today to try and make up losses. Not much of an issue for me as I was scheduled in. But the systems are still down.

Some people gave used holidays or doing half days but I volunteered to stay as I'm one of the few people who don't have kids and the systems MIGHT come back on. So me and a few others are in the office literally just dicking around on our phones.

I honestly think he'd be better served by a Bumblebee approach, and have two figures - a big one that turns into an aircraft carrier, and a smaller one that turns into a jet. Solves people's size dilemma, too...

    Of those I have tried,

Primal ( Mine had bad paint apps and I didn't find it fun in either mode compared to the Masterpiece which was my first figure of the character. I didn't spend more than maybe 10 minutes with it before dispatching it to the bottom of a box where it's been ever since. )
Rattrap ( OK in robot mode but the rat mode is poor and I've never transformed it. )
Blackarachnia ( Feels very flimsy and the initial colours were not my cup of tea. I later bought the Takara 2-pack with Tigatron as the decos for both were more appealing but donated the set to a local hospital's toy drive without opening it as I knew it was one impulse buy too many and I'd never really enjoy them. )

    I also tried,
Cheetor ( Couldn't warm to it even after getting a 3D printed gun for it. )
Rhinox ( With hindsight I shouldn't have even ordered it because the T30 figure is so much better. Another impulse buy but I ended up returning it to Amazon the day after it arrived. )

I've not looked at non cartoon characters and didn't go for Megatron as I preferred the look of the Masterpiece which I ended up getting a KO with improvements of.

I think Broadside is the codifier of scale insanity.
It's got one single alt mode, Space Coffin, with it without decorations.

Took an impromptu trip to my new local Smyths today and was very pleasantly surprised to see plenty of good stuff! Starscream of both the gamer and Cybertron variety, concept Megs, etc.

Of course when my eyes landed on the figure I've been waiting on being announced for years, it was bliss and I walked away a very happy customer. 1000011080.jpg

If there is one thing I don't understand at all, it's Sunbow figures in G1 toy colours (and, vice versa, G1 toys in Sunbow colours). They just look wrong, and surely make no-one happy?

An endeavour (of Junkers and space)

So I wanted to make some room, and throw a few conciliatory titbits of clearing for the other half, as I do have a lot of toys hanging around, admittedly at least just in one area...rather than her clothes all over the house, whilst I’m doing all the housework.....but I digress.

...so I went into the ‘junkers’ hoard.

I started by sorting out Bees, G1, and legends/Minicons/Micromasters so I could deal with them separately...then I went through, ditching duplications (that I have whole versions of), the hopelessly broken or anything I just utterly despise (any and all Starscream or beasty bits, looking at you)....

I have reduced the overall hoard into one large box, from about two and a half, and there have been winners –

    IMG_20240506_205055_0.jpg

Optimus ROTF Movie Leader survives again, as I found him a replacement chest piece, and now he just needs a foot, which I reckon is in the separate ‘spares’ hoard, I will get shot of him anyway when I have completed him, I don’t need three...ish. Megatron survives under him, although at the moment he has two right gun-arms, haven’t figured out how to bodge that yet. I didn’t realise the combined mode of the Animated jets had moulded ‘hands’ so they can stay as is. Both Junkions stay as they have different head colours, and the single ‘fixed it’ is BH Prime Soundwave, I have even found most (one arm missing) of a second one.

The TR Headmaster will be wearing his legs round the other way from now on as he is missing his feet, (didn’t realise his TM was driving him actually).

One step Tango dude it took me a while to spot his issue (it’s one of his pull out spikes missing) lefty PCC was just because I like messing with PCCs, and I gave Whirl another head, although ironically it is the mono-eyeball I don’t like about the missing original.

    And losers.....
    IMG_20240506_210356_1.jpg
    And more losers..
    IMG_20240506_210451_6.jpg
And more l...you can see where this is going.
    IMG_20240506_210637_2.jpg

It is an offer I have made before with zero takers, which is no stress, but if anyone thinks they need anything from the kick-out piles it is just postage. They will be donated to a local dealer in three large reusable bags this weekend, I have not included the added kick-outs from the legends etc. and Bee pile in these photos, you can always ask but my chosen field is cheap second hand UK stuff, so don’t expect any gems.

ShowZ are usually pretty good for that, I think. The size of it might attract attention, I suppose

Pulse has some balls putting their shit Classified distribution (Snow Serpent, Arctic BAT etc) behind their Premium paywall for an hour.

Reminds me, we never did find out what upset SAF, did we?

Nah, there's not much left for 2024. Tidal Wave, Geist in October, the rest is bearable.
It's just that once your collection breaks up, it's difficult to reverse the course.

Does MFT Springer come with a power suit? If yes, I'd be interested
