A bit of a long shot. I don’t suppose anyone has any contacts at the Finnish embassy in London? Perhaps the UK Home Office?

In case anyone missed it, Smyths have mainline Cheetor, Bumblebee, and Airrazor in stock. Currently talking myself out of a Cheetor at my local place cos I kinda just want Nightbird.

    Wow that's random, Steve!

Issue with the Home Office is it's vast in scope, so a contact there may be totally unhelpful to you for what you need.

The embassy would be more likely to yield a useful contact as they're more narrowly focused in what they do.

    Hope you get sorted mate.

Bit of a morning musing on this dreary day, and wondering who else can relate?

I've been trying to make a habit of transforming my bots without the aid of instructions. It started with AoE Galvatron (a 2nd hand purchase who didn't come with an instruction leaflet), then it was the Hero is Born set (I have both the Kup/Scourge pretools), and then most recently, MP Shockwave.

I figure it's a mix of (muscle) memory and intuitive design, but I feel that relying on instructions is a crutch and transforming unaided is a skill that needs to be kept sharp... maybe? What say you all?

Just want a simple answer from the Fins to confirm if wasting our time and energy for my wife to apply for a visa (tourist one as transit type visas no longer issued) to travel through their country onwards to the border with Russia, for her to leave Finland so she can bury her mum (who passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday) in Russia.

Cannot get an appointment with VSF Global currently who deal with Finnish visa applications and they cannot answer whether my wife will be treated as a Russian national like she is living in Russia (likely to be knocked back for a tourist visa) despite living in the UK for the last 15+ years holding a British residency permit. British passport holders don’t require visas to travel to Finland and trying to get an answer whether if I travel with her to Finland will help is like getting blood out of a stone.

She could potentially travel from the UK to Turkey and then from Turkey to Russia but that second flight goes over a war zone. Similar thing if she goes via Serbia. I’d prefer her to not go these ways. Safer going via Finland. Norway is a no go.

Easter and bank holidays are not helping matters. Stuck in limbo.

My wife is always amazed that i can transform something while watching tv. I think it's muscle memory. Feels like it in my case at any rate.

Yikes, that's a difficult one. Condolences too.

From (limited) experience, it's always a case of the destination country's rules, so the Home Office are unlikely to offer much by way of specific information.

I'd definitely suggest Finnish Embassy here, or UK Embassy in Finland, as the best people to advise.

Hope you're able to get sorted.

    Have a blast!

Do you mean first time, or just regularly? I always have an instructionless messabout with a figure first time around Transformation Plaza. I do sometimes call up a video or similar just to check an assumption - if, for example, I'm pretty sure something needs to go a certain way but it doesn't seem to want to. If I can't tell if it's just tight or if it's about to break I'll see if Emgo shoved it that way just to be safe. After the first time I'm usually fine, although I may look up bits I'm not sure about (the classic 'is that right?' moment when you think you've finished). I don't think I'd call instructions a crutch though, I don't think people shouldn't use them if they want to.

I indirectly deal with (student) visas enough at work to know not to even dream of offering an opinion! Hope you can get it sorted.

Quick question for the technical/creative/non-incompetent hivemind - how feasible, if at all, would using one of these...

    51q2QkbI+CL._AC_SX466_.png

...on its side be if one were looking to store Headmasters in head mode? Are the holes too big?

Great little custom there :) , what was the base bot? Assuming something from the movieverse?

Hope everyone's making the most they can out of today barring the weather!

It can be done but not without forcing the peg in. Madam. Basically you'd be shaving microns of plastic off the headmaster each time.
