It's getting me irked too that they didn't do more pretenders all in this scale. The Autobots get small deluxe for their minihots but there's not much similar in the better more superb decepticon ranks.

TBH, think they've been on the ropes for ages now. I'd never heard of them until people on here mentioned issues.

Suspect at this stage anyone with anything outstanding has lost it tbh, I'd be VERY surprised if they are actually in a position to process refunds and I expect the next big announcement will be bankruptcy/insolvency/you ain't getting your money back cos it don't exist thing :(

Hopefully PP /credit cards sort anyone out and then try to carve it out of whatever is left of them.

I actually quite like the look of these RotB toyline figs. That Cheetor gives me Transformers Prime vibes for some reason. I think it's in part the proportions.
And yes @Vertex I know he has a nose :p

Good point! They're a form of security for the retailer for setting stock aside if you decide to cancel on them, so they aren't completely out of pocket on it. Also we do get the deposit 'back' in the form of the product when we settle up the rest of the cost. And like a security deposit on a rental or whatever where if we break the rules of the deposit, which we agreed to, we lose the deposit.
I guess we've been spoiled by other sites that do refund the deposit but it's certainly not a red flag for C&C. I've used them a few times, can't say I've had any issues with them other than the one time I cancelled a pre-order, and not having read up on that part of their PO policy but that was entirely on me.
Granted @Paneltron might feel different as they took my Ultimate X-Panse PO from them off of me when I got it cheaper elsewhere:lol .

Red stripe on the cannons? Looks cool :)  Maybe I'll do that myself...

:lol  That reminds me of a pic I took when I first got Arky boy:

In regards to the pretenders, I hope this wave of them ends sooner rather than later. I just want actual shells with inner robots.

Although, Id be on board for the inevitable dinoforce set. So long as its
    A) reasonably priced
    (£70 or less)
    B) has the right deco
(colour each member like the inner bot, not the shell)

I imagine The Ark using an old fashioned typewriter like Jessica Fletcher, Mr Tumble's mum.

Mine still shows as on hold in Manchester, but the chatbot says delivery this morning. Given the time, I jumped to a person and they said it's being loaded for delivery today and I'll see a 'with courier' scan shortly. That was half an hour ago and still no change.

If it doesn't come today I want some discount from AJP for delays. They can argue with DHL about it!

A deposit in my experience, whatever the goods or service, is usually about reserving the option to purchase. That's why most companies refund them if it doesn’t go ahead. The truth is the company has already ordered the stock in or made arrangements long before anything goes live. Also it's money currently in their account they might not otherwise have and is a bit of a hook for the customer. It bothers me there's the potential for Comics really needing those deposits.

@SJW There's been loads of little things over time, like responses to emails, stuff taking well over a week to get despatched, but especially how long it was taking to ever get a response on a refunded return. When you've had bad experiences multiple times before down the years on that score...

Venturing a bit out in other threads...I must say I really enjoy this thread. There's a certain element of positivity and acceptance that just isn't repeated elsewhere lol.

Yeah not everybody likes every figure, but you don't have people harping on about the same figure [that they've not bought] ad infinitum for months. Well...bar one exception  :D

On toy news...did Hasbro just get a sh!t ton of ugly brown plastic for ROTB? Pretty much all 4 mainline bots use it or a good percentage of it . Feels like allspark baby blue all over again.

Having said that, Cheetor does look nice though it's a tad annoying how nicer he is than the original deluxe he's based off of. Watch how the SS version is a retooled/heavily based on Tigatron.

I had one bad experience with them as well back in 2021. A Mcfarlane Warhammer Lieutenant which was due imminently in May 2021, order placed end of April. Got to the summer and I know the figure was available elsewhere asking them for an update on why I hadn’t received. This was in July. I asked if they were likely to fulfill my order. That fell on deaf ears. I foolishly let it slide and got to Sept 2021 when I requested a refund. I didn’t get a response and had to follow up again getting a holding reply and no response to refunding. Finally got acknowledgement they would refund in the November. I’m glad I didn’t have much cash tied up with them (about £23 in total). I was more annoyed with the lack of communication/response and then blatant delays prolonging it all. Transpired they couldn’t refund my cash because I had done the original payment via PayPal. Anyway, I finally got the cash back in late January 2022.

I was vocal in here of my experience and that I wouldn’t use them again. Looking up companies house and all the impending strike off action for the main shareholder/person of influence confirmed to stay away so I was surprised that a few in here kept placing orders. I really hope everyone can get their cash back and would echo what others have said if you haven’t started a refund, to do so.

I agree and would advise those with outstanding unfulfilled orders to get cracking with refund requests and certainly progress what you can via your CC/PayPal.

I agree with all you say about taking deposits and the dubious nature of that but companies that do not refund them, will quote T&Cs. It will be a case that you read them and have agreed to transact business with them on that basis. If you don’t like those terms, don’t use them. I don’t like C&C’s non refundable deposit rule and on top of other matters that were annoying me about them, I decided to swerve using them.

I have T&Cs connected to my business. The difference is I go through those with potential new customers and refresh that with existing clients to make sure they understand and are clear on them. Long standing existing customers of mine I will be flexible with.

Lol! My scan update said 11:58 with courier, but the chat person knew I should expect it half an hour beforehand, so who knows when it actually got put on the van...

But 1hr and 2mins works for me! I'm actually about 30-40mins away (I think...) so I expect I was just 1st or 2nd on the afternoon route.

    [Edit:
    37 mins right now

Just glad he's arrived and I can get transformed later. First glance shows good paint, a couple of sprue marks, but all okay. I've already switched out the chrome grill for toon though.

    Yay!

I wonder if there's anything in trading law about keeping deposits, there's companies who do and many who don't. I mean presumably they all would if they thought they'd get away with it, bad for business overall as it could be.
