Quick top 10 [well, part1] of 2022 for me...

MMC Navigant and Medicus: If you're reading this thread you'd have seen my gushing reviews of both. Just about perfect---fantastic engineering that is smart and easy to follow, fancy articulation on both, neat tricks you'll probably miss on your first time, fave characters of mine.



DX9 La Hire: Aka 3rd party MPM TLK Hot Rod. Again, incredible yet simple engineering, absolutely no bit of this car is left unused for robot mode. Folds down an entire Lamborghini to an almost kibble-free robot. Superb articulation, fantastic join tolerances. Got him in January but knew he'd made the top 10 back then.



Cang Toys mini Fermini: If not mistaken my first 3p legends bot. I loved the bigger versions; they most certainly have presence but their transformations did leave a bad taste. This one though? Sheer perfection. He's got tech tampographs at that scale, plenty of locking points, majestic wings. Bring on the other 5.



Velocitron Scourge: Now this was admittedly more of a curiosity purchase, but I'm glad I did. For some reason there's a lot of back and forth and confusion over the colour scheme, one half saying it's not Scourge enough, the other half saying it's not Black Convoy enough, with a hint of No it's too much Nemesis Prime. I'm probably too old and not invested enough in the character to care. He looks fabulous, fantastic smooth joints on mine, perfect paint, fun transformation, truck base mode...the works. Yes it does not really hold a candle to the 2000 original because the base mode is 4-5 slabs of plastic instead of having gimmicks and the robot is a lot smaller, but if you want an evil-looking Prime to sit on your shelf with a pretty weapon, an ankle tilt and a kick ass truck mode, you're there.

I like Scourge for the reasons you mentioned might annoy some others. Because my Prime is fairly traditional being the IDW earth version (TW Orion), I'm a fan of something looking a corrupted version of himself, spewing bad fuel and bad vibes, instead of Space Dad's much more socially acceptable vast load of consumer goods in his trailer. Huzzah for Edgelord Prime.

Mine is also stuck in (an albeit tidy looking) alt mode.

my last batch of beast wars pics;







another gloriously mad bastard. im pretty sure the only reason i bought transmutate was for me to these pics. cyborg crab with battle tank mode. i have come to the realisation that the villains are the best thing about beast wars. megatron, inferno, tarantulas, rampage, waspinator, and then the tweeners blackarachnia and dinobot. all full of character, a bunch of them absolutely insane. i dont spend much time thinking about the maximals but some of them preds are iconic.

 

I've heard they're bedecked in his clan's tartan though. And that he's immortal with a blue face. I think I have that right.
