Dunno about that man, Dragstrip and Dead End have broken in two! What kind of garage/chopshop is this?

I have a Menasor! Hmmm. Things I like, his hip and ankle ratchets match (this improves posability no end). And he is emminently posable. Decent heft, satisfying mass all that jazz.

The cons... MM's base mode is utter utter wank. His legs should have option for cars at the back OR front. Breakdown absolutely is a 'they'll have to buy him no matter what shit we put out to finish the big man.' Someone is gonna make a 3P Contach reshell right? Right?

That looks suspiciously like a repainted G1 Magnus torso... hmmm. Hopefully not a shattered glass G1 Magnus... a Hate Plague Magnus would be sweeeeet. And angry.

So, I must confess I'm personally not too excited by the prospect of Commander class Ultra Magnus. I'm sure he'll be impressive, but SS:86 has be so hit and miss for me that I'm fearing it'll be as squiffy as the Dinobots, Blurr, or Perceptor, rather than as triumphant as Hot Rod or Scourge.

The other SS86 curio that caught my eye was 'TF GEN BB SS TF-86 2 pack $76.99 CAD'. My first thought was Ratchet and Prowl. My second thought was more Seekers. My third thought was Coneheads. Then I checked on currency convertor and realised that $77 Canadian dollars is only about £47, and that it had to be -at best- a couple of Deluxes. Then a butterfly flew by and I thought "In December?"

At a similar price, I'm curious to see what 'TF Gen Fan Exclusive 2 $76.99 CAD', the long awaited sequel to 'TF Gen Fan Exclusive 1 - Alpha Trion and Orion Pax', will be.

Then I looked at the list of Collab listings and noticed one of them is around the Commander price point. Then another butterfly went past and I thought "a fucking nest or something?"

Kitchen ware is simply too trivial a concern for one of your wisdom. You're meant for bigger things.

I would like that very much.

    Rubber Ducky, is that you?

I might wind up just getting that. I'm not particularly optimistic that I'll get a replacement lad for ol' bonny lad.

Surely Hasbro will do an Optimus v Megatron final battle to tie in with the SS86 line at some point. Possibly not technically SS86 to sidestep the Megatron altmode issue?

Looking again at the latest leaks...

    Studio Series:
Tra Gen Studio Series Dlx WFC Infantry

This is WFC/FoC, right? So do the games feature any generics as cannon fodder?

I apologise for leading you into temptation. Mostly

I think Magnificus & SG Magnus/Powered Convoy are the only two diaclone repaints left for me, and I'll wait for the price to drop on both of those I think

Yep, there were a few different generic types that filled different combat roles.
The other one that sprung to mind was the trooper based on the Runamuck/Runabout body type from the Devestation game, although not sure if that fits the Studio Series brief... They already have the figure though, so it would be a quick and easy repaint to churn out.

Would a Haslab Megatron be able to use a gun mode as it wouldn't be generally available for children to buy? Just include the general orange cap as an added difference?

Newage gave us a good idea what one could/should look like - shame it was a far east convention exclusive made in limited numbers.

    I want to eat that.

As much as i love the general cw combiner design, there's something to be said about the heft and bulk of menasor, doing it as a commander and 4 deluxes instead of a voyager. Although his sword is more like a dagger so that got swapped. Just wondering if theres a way to put the pe articulated hands on this guy? Probably not. I'll end up giving them to dinoking most likely.

Good little trip out today, went to see Muppet Christmas Carol on the big screen with my sister, got 3 for 2 on Hot Wheels in the Entertainer, including a cool HW Concept KITT, then in TK Maxx found the Jada Toys KITT for £8 and LEgacy Kickback and Dragstrip for £13 each, all bought and added to the 'after Xmas' pile

Ohh i want Bazooka but I think I will wait for the standard version with the red T-shirt

Almost inevitably, but at £47 for the 2-pack, that couldn't be either of these, right?

    Menasors then.

They're certainly two very different takes on the character (and the teams as a whole). Both have their flaws, though arguably CW has more, even with upgrade kits.

He's not perfect but Legacy Menasor wins out by a fair margin. Hope the other Special Teams can receive a similar treatment!

A fun little diversion on the BBC website:

    What's your ideal Christmas toy?

I got 1986 first time. Was interesting watching the video that goes with it though for the top 10 toys for Christmas that year. Such a different age!
