I'd need to look again but I don't think they're engineering-capable after much trying! And on mine it wouldn't close all the gaps elsewhere anyway  

 

@Siege Fan I found him very underwhelming, I’ve been meaning to go back to him again and see if he’s better than my first impressions where he singularly achieves the goal of being a leg but compared to Drag Strip and the master of motors he’s definitely lacking. I found him like a really bad version of the Battlechargers, who at least have chonk and heft.

 

Mine doesn’t close up properly in car mode either.

The instructions are just plain wrong in places. You can’t tab the heel AND the toes of the robot feet where they’re supposed to go in car mode.

The legs don’t hinge wide enough to get past the car doors when transforming. I find it works best if you: open the legs on their side hinges, swing his arms forward (in robot mode, or down in car mode) and then do the legs.

Also the bonnet grinds into place. What you can do is, with the bonnet at right angles to the car mode, open the side bits of the bonnet then move the bonnet into place (above or below the clear plastic beneath the windshield) then reassemble the bonnet.

Those scratches are awful, looks like someone struggled to get that in the packaging!

 

Yeah, I wondered was I just too annoyed with him but having played with Tarantulas and Minerva (essentially Elita 1), I'm starting to think a lot of the wave's money went to Tarantulas at the expense of the others! He really does feel cheap in every way.

He does have very nice weapons though, so basically the one bit I hated about the UW version was improved, much better equipment but otherwise I think that version looks and feels nicer than this, Drag Strip across UW/CW/Leg does feel nicer in Legacy, but I liked all of his versions

 

Tarantulas is phenomenal and really feels like he got the investment more than the others, Jhiaxus is still very dissatisfying, my decades of hatred towards Jazz is making me dislike Knockout more than he probably deserves, and because TFC Hades showed up the Energon chonk is winning out, perhaps I’ll take the Stunticons on a hike and see if a change of terrain helps

My policy of no longer POing standard waves and waiting on discounts means Jhiaxus and Knockout are a while off for me, alongside Elita. Only ordered Tarantulas and fucking Flo Rida because they were slightly cheaper at IDT and I needed free postage on an order lol.

And with each of the 'missing' ones above it's a case of only being interested in one mode in theory! So far for me Legacy is wildly veering between quality and dross with little in-between.

 

You really got unlucky there with that copy. Did you get it from Smyths or one of our online etailers? See if you can exchange for another copy. If not, try using an eraser on the clear plastic to sort out some of those scratches.

On a serious note, I’m in a similar boat to you and the others regarding the state of the figure. Definitely a let down compared to Dragstrip.

I keep eyeing up that OSKO. The pricing of that is fantastic. Looks like it could be much fun to flip between the individual team and alt modes as well as combining up.

You would be right that XTB wouldn’t give you that level of fun given the size.

I am buying the Legacy Stunticons for the individuals. If I didn’t have XTB Monolith I would have certainly combined the legacy team into Menasor for display purposes.

I reckon that OSKO if upscaled to deluxe scale would have taken much sales away from Hasbro.

I thonk I'm the opposite to you folks, I'm a fan of the vehicle and robot modes on the Stunts more than I'm craving for the Menasor figure. It means a huge amount to have MM with a trailer and with cab feet for my fevered and diseased mind to accept it in to my psyche. Roll on a shit hot Lambo and Porker.

I think Mark made it clear that budget is by Wave or similar, when he said on the stream that Armada Starscream was losing a paint app so that [forget which figure] could have something.

They're either costing the line itself or each Wave at the very least, so the idea that one figure's excellence results in another one's substandard quality is clearly a 'thing' now

I love the XTB set (I’ve got the Toy and G2 versions) but the trailer really isn’t a quick thing to play with. The rest of the set are pretty ok, really. I had the original MS set and it was pretty easy to play with, and has all the options for different limbbot attachment options. Think I’ve talked myself into it…

The QC was actually good, especially compared to a lot of the things I’ve had recently. He just felt very uninspired, I do think he needs another tinker with as when you arrive with Tarantulas the bar is set very high

 

He's not even worth the effort returning, but I might try the eraser! He'll eventually just be part of Menasor when Smyths hold on to Motormaster so long they can't shift him at £60...
