    Those aren't chainswords, they're his loafers! He's waving his shoes around....

    Have you got a link you can share? Almost everywhere seems to be out of stock of the Toy version of prowl & Barricade

    Thanks everyone. I knew you'd know :)  Some context: my kid understands that I am not in a position to drop five hundo on a games console (though, as I just got a new job, maaaaybe I will in years to come) and in fact their current machine is a Wii, so even previous-gen machines are going to be a big improvement! Second-hand Ones are about half the price of Series S machines...

    Even when I kept up with contemporary gaming I had a retro streak. I think the only current machine I've ever owned is a PS1, when they came down to £160 but long before the PS2 appeared. I gravitate to games with blue sky, where you get three lives and collect things. And if you get 100 of a thing, you get another thing! (Am hapily channeling the long-defunct gaming website UK RESISTANCE here)

    Wendy James was so hot, I still remember having quite a crush on her

    I read that as Stefan Dennis and now I can't gift his song out of my head!

    LOL, so funny.

    I always like a zinger tower burger!

    Yes, all good here. All isolating except my wife who seems to repel covid. She is still testing negative. Freedom day tomorrow for myself and my eldest.

    Not so sure I’d be cool with Paul Robinson holding my sonic screwdriver.

    Enjoy! :D

    @DeadBiscuit,
    The seller is clevertiger16 on ebay.

    Alternatively there's sellers on AliExpress with it for a couple of quid more but as always
    use caution and check they aren't on any lists for sending rocks or something.

    @Lothar Hex,
    Take care man, hope you and the family can get all the support in you need to get through this horrific situation, So sorry :(

    I’d consider myself as a bit of an expert on this matter and lifelong gamer.

    Don’t, unless desperate, buy a Xbox One / One S or One X. Yes you will be able to run a few current games (significantly paired back to some degree) for a small time period from disc or digital download.

    They are last gen for a reason.

    however some titles will not run on it and the solution for this is cloud streaming which in my experience works but isn’t ideal at all (I have tried many services and Xcloud is the best but it’s not how I’d want to play games)

    Onto current gen Xbox.

    so Xbox Series S and X. I have both in my house and can tell you they are good at what they do, but one has its limitations.

    S will only play digital games so possibly cost more unless you’re happy with the offerings on Gamepass. It’s pretty much a 1080p console and should run this current gen fine but I feel it will start to suffer later on. It has less storage but my son copes perfectly fine with multiple games installed.

    The Series X is simply amazing. But you pay for it.

    I have to add to this I also own a PS5 and this is my preferred console for a multitude of reasons. But if it wasn’t for some of them and friends I’d play on Xbox all the time.

    You can regularly get a Series S on Amazon (they have stock now) and 2nd hand refurb units have been popping up on eBay cheaper also.

    If budget is the biggest problem and you must buy a console, you will be ok with a One X for a bit, but if you can deal with the digital only aspect I’d go for a series S.

    If you want any more input (a few others have given you similar advice I see), feel free to drop me a DM.
