Had 2 packages arrive this afternoon, one with the DVD of Donnie Brasco I got for a couple of quid and the other with the very eagerly anticipated MAFEX Gambit who's absolutely f'ing amazing.

If ever a figure captures the energy of a comic character in motion it's this one, so easy to pose, 2 fantastic headsculpts and the wired coat is glorious....it makes so much difference to what's possible with the figure that there's absolutely no comparison with the Marvel Legends alternative.

Sometimes Hasbro can get close to their more expensive import counterparts but as with AoA Magneto there's absolutely no contest here, when soft goods works, it really works but it has to be done at a premium level, cheaping out will never achieve the same effect.

I haven't actually done anything with the effect pieces yet because 2 of them are f'ing huge, one even has it's own small stand so I'll watch the Fwoosh review again to see how to use them.

Medicom have obviously listened to criticisms about their hands being a bit scary to swap as more recent releases have had all sets of hands come on their own sprues so the holes don't need enlarging or anything.

Only minor nitpicks are the lack of a 3rd head with a smirk and none of the cards have details on them but maybe the ink burns off when he charges them or something so it's not the end of the world.

In an ideal world he'd also have a hand with a ciggie but obviously not happening because Wolverine can't have a cigar any more either.....I get the reasoning for mass market figures aimed at kids but MAFEX aren't that so a disclaimer with the hand hidden in the box should be all that's required.

I was made aware of a Classified Series Cobra Officer by a friend so I've now got one ordered with Comics & Cocktails.

No I think because that didn't become a thing until after Plex. But I do believe someone made adapters or is that for Max as well?
