Hey everyone. I still function, just took a week or so off fandom while I dealt with various hospital things. I didn't miss much, right? :)

I just had my radiotherapy brought forward to start on Monday. It's payday on Friday, so I can feel some robot comfort purchases coming on!

All this talk of base-modes got me looking through my collection archives to see what I had. More base mode orientated bots than I remember. Ok Ok so I will give Omega Supreme / Omegatron a pass to my indifference.

I have had to thin my collections out so many times over the years, focus and re-focus. Collection creep is the wallet killer.

That's good news re dates. How is the prognosis at this stage now?

Payday Friday you say......have you seen the Ark at Hamleys for £108 and Rodimus for c£57?

Didn't you already have about 10 Gnaws?

That Classified Snake Eyes with Timber though!!!!!

I saw that Webstor / Stinkor / LoP wave in our local ToyTown yesterday and was almost tempted again to get back into MOTU Origins.

They might just do a Nemesis Rodimus Core class figure and that’s basically got that sorted….

Nope, these are merely numbers 3 and 4, which is where I'm stopping.

SE has been sitting in the PoL for months, that's the best of it! Of course now that Zartan pack is calling to me for the ninja headsculpts...

Think I'm keeping the MOTU stuff until last, though dying to place them amongst their brethern in the Grayskull display!

You won't be PMing me your details then, excellent :D  (if the GF gets here soon I could maybe post them tonight, otherwise Friday)

    Thanks Pulse. IMG_20211027_155124.jpg

Zartan is surprisingly nice. What a change to get something like this at a regular price rather than the arseache of importing.

If Menasor is made essentially from both MM and the trailer I’m expecting the gestalt to be about 16/17 inches tall. Just fractionally shorter than CW Devy. I’ve not seen any chatter about them re-doing Devastator. Siege Jetfire is 11-12 inches tall and is literally the same scale as CW Combiners. Hasbro seem to be more focused on scale for WFC so I think a redo of CW Combiners at 11-12 inches tall under legacy will not happen. I hope not. IMO I think they need to be taller. Siege Jetfire put paid to future Combiners being taller.

I think you could be on to something there. I’d assume the modular figures would certainly need to be locked in securely especially for the creation of and maintaining of a gestalt.

I’m convinced the elephant in the room is Siege Jetfire and when you look at how Hasbro has scaled that figure with OP/Dinos etc... new Combiners from them will certainly be taller than Jetfire up towards what they achieved with CW Devy. Devy attained much of the height because all 6 components are voyager size. Was there any partsforming involved with CW Devy?

That head/ face is the default one that is attached with the trailer. I bought the accessories pack as well which came with multiple faces. I think someone in the XTB Monolith thread (@TigerBlade ) painted the default face of his Menasor a lighter colour. He might be able to post a photo in here to show the impact of the lighter face.

I will dig out the accessories pack and post a photo of the other faces that were available to attach. I cannot recall if they differed by expression only or some had different complexions.

A lovely group you have there. That last photo really does demonstrate the height difference between devy and the rest.

I still like the CW Combiners and what you have added to yours improves them.

I think the partsforming/skeleton shell route will help give better proportions and stability as well as articulation for more dynamic poses. Hopefully address the jetfire scale discrepancy that I have where the CW Combiners are just too short. I think they work better with legend scale but given the 3rd party stuff being churned out, would one be inclined to mix CW Combiners with legend scale figures.

I’m also looking forward to Legacy Menasor.

All too often :(  I recommend doing something fun, such as playing with plastic robots for example :D

...I briefly thought that was an Aang figure of some sort o_O :lol

    ...

Urgh, had my Flu Vaccination yesterday so naturally I feel like crap today. On the plus side some LEGO I ordered came (notably the Santa's Sleigh which I intend to hang off on building till December 1st, but kept going out of stock) and Ravage is due sometime today too :)

The ban is just on leaking info about figures not already leaked/in the public domain. There's been a bunch of Wal-Mart/target listings leaked so most of the line is now fair game.
