According to that motu documentary on Netflix, Sea Man was the proxy name that they used until the writing and creative guys got involved.

    Edit: ninja'd

    Skeletor was Bone Man, too.

Good job that never took off, as I doubt we'd have ever seen Boneasaurs then...

I really like the Ark, the toys has problems as a lot of mainline toys do, bit when I think what a Generations deluxe costs now (£25) I think the £135 I paid for the Ark is reasonable.

But the reason it wins for me is simply, I never, ever thought we'd get an Ark, nevermind one that turns into a honking greet robot with the face of the Last Autobot.

I really want to see that Rocky IV directors cut, but I think they missed a trick. They should have re-cut the film from Drago's perspective using new footage of modern day Lundgren as a framing device as he's telling his son the story, and they should have released it before Creed II.

My copy of the Ark does stay together pretty well. I think the only weak spot is that grey square which is both under- and over-engineered at the same time.
I display the Ark either standing, or vertical, so I never directly see those gaps. They are pretty bad, but easy to forget in some cases.

Welp, some days the bear eats you, been trawling the interwebs for some potential SF gear at 1:12 scale to give B.A.T. Grim a data/time travel pad device but no luck!
Any ideas? I have the feeling I may have been looking in the wrong places.

Nemesis Nemesis Prime is Red with Black windows

Fisto fisted as hard as he could until Sea Man exploded onto the scene.

I hear those writers went on to be part of the Boneasaurs creative team at Hasbro.

I still like to imagine a Nemesis bot turning up but it has the personality of Shamble :D

Annoyingly that is the sorta-translucent-y bit of Tech I would like, at a price I would prefer to avoid! :lol

Toysarama do BAF-less versions, still probably come in at £16 total though. Wait for a Smyths sale? Think they got that wave.

    Edit 15 at Smyths currently.

Cheers! Unfortunately I have remembered the (I believe) laser-etched acrylic transparent bits of Infinity Wargame scenery, thus my mind has now gone off the rails, and I am considering the bonkers possibility of "Hm, what if I sourced some bright fluorescent acrylic bits, and figured out how to get it etched?"

The main issue with it tabbing together is apparently fixable with a shave of the posts on that grey midsection. I haven't done it yet as he holds together fine enough elsewhere and spring loaded back entrance (just like me!) and bridge detail aside, he's more of a display piece as The Ark rather than an interactive toy. Though that is ultimately a worthy criticism.

Bloody love the guy though. I think it's the utter simplicity of his A to B married to the insane detail of the sculpt serenaded by the noises he makes whenever you move a part of him that makes him such a compelling robot to mess about with. I'm also a huge advocate of them taking advantage of throwing something new into the G1 line. And Teletraan-1 being Mainframe. That's fucking clever.

It's a great idea but I'm already feeling ambitious about a hologram-looking clear pad, that I might be able to shape a 5mm tab for holding on to!
Could be the long game on this one!

My headcanon now is that Actionmaster Mainframe was built from the salvaged remains of Teletraan-1. I think in G1 Teletraan-1 got destroyed at some point leading to Teletraan-2 - not least of which because in the real world Teletraan's voice actor quit for entirely justified reasons or something?
Though, did they salvage 1 to make 2? I dunno, it makes sense to me! :p

    PowerCon musings...

@Xaran Alamas They said every bit of MOTU history was being considered for the Masterverse line, you might get Netflix She-ra figures yet!

The into 2023 and beyond bit seems to shoot down old Toyguru... especially when they're expanding into new markets, their own store and potential fan-funded items.

Seriously looking forward to Jitsu, Anti-Eternia He-Man and Stridor. Having Stridor be able to rear up is fantastic!

Bit disappointed they seem to be using those rubbish Triple H terror claws for Skelly, they're really unwieldy. Flying Fists He-Man looks cool though.

Masterverse Fisto might be all I need since Scareglow doesn't seem as good as the exclusive. Tri-Klops and Trap-Jaw are sale only because I loved the cult idea but hated the outfits! King Grayskull looks great but I don't need him.

The 'New Eternia' subline has potential but seemingly a weak start in the viking/barbarian leads (why on Earth didn't Mattel give their reveals the same big pics Sun-Man got?). The old logo for She-Ra is promising and I'm curious about kid show He-Man getting a look-in.

Hope to Subternia they've made enough Mattel Creations Sun-Man, Tri-Klops, Wun-Dar and Kol-Darr. And that their website works. And that shipping won't be extortionate. And... exclusives are a right load of Tracks, aren't they?

Sun-Man seems to be a whole line and presumably how they'll help stretch Origins into/past 2023.

FYI, saw a list recently that had both Eternian Guard and a 'Deluxe Man At Arms' on it? One and the same?

Seems 'New Eternia' might get a media look-in somehow with 'more stories possible'.

Vehicles and playsets seem staggered with the sheer amount of sublines, sadly. I want the stuff I never had as a kid and I'd happily die after being crushed by an avalanche of it!

Crowdfunded stuff... my first thought was Eternia but potentially the Crystal Castle if we get PoP figs? Maybe even a 'proper' Fright Zone original idea.

Mega Construx... definitely getting Slime Pit, maybe the Hordak set. The rest is too mad lol.

    Edit

    Those Masterverse look great.
