    Oooh!

Yeah... I remember reading on the Wiki that it wasn't even he had a problem with Arab villains - indeed the cartoon had already had some in an earlier episode (A Thief in the Night?) - but that the episode with Carbombya (seriously? What were they thinking?) was just so absolutely laden with offensive stereotypes and absolutely no redeeming qualities... I do not blame him for walking. I guess it goes to show 'The Twins' in RotF weren't the first time TF had some really ill conceived and racist characters :p

Yeah, stating the visually obvious is apparently humour now!

I do find Sun-Man's expression a bit Fat Albert, sadly! Though those Origins figures always look way better in hand.

Genuinely wouldn't have the patience, I've some tiny Construx TMNT sets and those were a nightmare the parts are so small! Does look amazing though, even better than Grayskull potentially.

I've already made room for Origins Snake Mountain should that happen too!

My preorder of Kingdom Rhinox arrived today. I greatly prefer it over my Generations figure as it doesn't have floppy knees.

I believe the final straw was seeing the script for 5 Faces of Darkness with the sign for Carbombya 4,000 people, 10,000 camels

@Genetic thanks for the Scorponok, only had Zarak out the box so far but the big bot looks incredible it must be said

to be honest, nothing in that Carbombya episode seems worse than an episode of Family Guy. the joke about camel population sounds like a Simpsons gag.

But those are adult shows aimed at a different audience, in that context you can write them off as jokes. Part of the brief for Transformers and 80s kids shows we're to be teach morality. In that context, it's not a "bad joke", it's just bad. Kasey Casem did not sign up to be part of Simpsons, he was a popular family DJ doing kids shows, who can blame him for walking.

Simply put one of my favourite movies of all time along with another so so Lovecraft film by the name of Event Horizon!

I thought prince of darkness was ok, we recently watched In Search of darkness Part 1 & 2 and so picked up a few films I’ve not seen.

as for Colour out of space, is it really good? I heard loads of people rave about Mandy and thought it was absolutely terrible, especially given Ken Barlow’s son was the bad guy!

absolutely loved it! Not seen in years

I’m excited for WoT. Never finished the books but this trailer looks great.

    Small difference.
A lot of TV jokes from the eighties would result in lawsuits if aired today, and can only be tolerated for historical purposes.
Family Guy is a show whose raison d'etre is to be as insulting as possible.
Family Guy reflects an intention, while old comedy sketches reflect a culture.
And it's much more comfortable to describe Family Guy today as "a show with bad taste" than to look back and accept what we were, less than 30 years ago.

I googled the carbomya episode (not seen it but sounds grim)
Reason #517372 for loving the UK thread:
racism or stereotyping in g1 transformers
Spoiler: it gets very gross very fast :(
Hope everyone's good. Barely had a chance to visit the thread in a while.

It's in me dining room mate, using the threezero DLX figures and no small amount of work in post.

    Here's the original.

That's incredible. I could just make out a framed picture on the wall which is why I asked. Genuinely assumed it was official art work on first glance. That fusion cannon effect is crazy

Cheere mate, really appreciated. I do keep some tells in the more fruity pictures, especially when using around the house as a backdrop. Sometimes it's more hassle than it's worth doing away with them completely. Was contemplating getting rid of the mirror frame but as per, thought 'Fuck it'.

I almost wish it WERE CGI because that would mean Napalm had spent ages modelling and rendering a CGI living room behind them.
