FWIW, I have the red Grimlock (like new) I’d be happy to sell for £10, & a full set of the oversized BM Black Mamba Dinobots (also new) for £40 if anyone’s interested? (All parts there, just not photographed)

I don’t usually post my sales on here, but they’re not up yet (along with a mint boxed (but opened) Star Saber, with everything, all mint for £150 (including the coin & a shapeways adaptor so he can finally hold his sword properly!) So even in the crappy IMO Kingdom boxes Galvy looks properly hench.

Here he is in more natural light and then with the flash on. In hand there's nothing wrong with the proportions to my mind. The only thing to point out is I find myself often fixing the shoulder stacks or pushing his sides back into place, but that's minor. Can get a tad annoying when combined with moving the treads though. The particle cannon takes me right back!



I just can't recommend those guns at all.



The headsculpt is mint.



We need a proper purple blast effect piece!



Thing about his hooves is that by accident he'll still stand quite well, even when his heel spurs aren't touching the ground! The silver is... I don't know yet.

With the level of detail on there it's no wonder there's been confusion (seemingly in the factory too) over the shoulder assembly. It's not worth worrying about in my view, certainly hasn't detracted from my enjoyment!



A look at those shoulders and 'battle damage' in context. I'm not so sure it actually is BD so much as a way to break up the solid purple. Like it's a hell of a chest he's got. Same with the silver on his shins.



With the guns on his back. Not for me.



My take on the alt mode is it's got about one good angle and that's it. I can live with that as someone who enjoyed the original toy but I think for most the alt will suck tbh. Again, we need a decent blast effect for it!

Transformation is fiddly I reckon, one of those 'move absolutely everything out of your way' jobs, plus there's some nonsense in clipping in the purple bits under the barrel. I could see a few people getting very tolerance unlucky, truthfully.



For my money it just looks silly with the guns attached.



The Matrix on mine doesn't have the tolerances required to look properly good, but I think it looks better hanging off the barrel crest anyhow.



In summary, don't worry about the 'dance with the devil in the pale moonlight' paint job or the shoulders, hell you might even appreciate them. The alt mode? Probably not, likely an acquired taste.

Hopefully you'll know what I mean when I say Gaviscon gave me the same 'look at this bad bastard' feeling as Cyclonus and Scourge. I recommend him!

Red Grimlock is both cool and hot. Got the set to put the others with POTP Grim for a correct-height prehistoric posse, so he’s been freelance ever since.



Best use of mold (albeit OSKOmancied) so far, for sure. Also that's not dust. It's powdered bone. Of his foes. Not because he lives in a museum.

I was just thinking that a sneak of the fabric box-of-boxes (it's always boxes within boxes) might be in order. So far Hasbro have made alterations though: SG Optimus has a shattered glass windscreen, Megs has jet bits, and Blurr has a pirate head. Ratchet, Screams, and Jetfire seem to be straight repaints though, and Goldbug a prepaint. Figure the budget ought to stretch to a tiny piece of nylon, as the Bishop said to the Actress just before the place got raided.  

 

Been having a think and have come to the conclusion I'll be better off axing my Sky and BT Sports subscriptions and finding a new intrest to replace football.

United are done as a successful side, there's very little to enjoy about the current squad and the sport is increasingly being overshadowed by other things so it's feeling like time to call it a day.

Not all nail polish remover is equal. Depends what is in yours.

Some/most are acetone based in varying concentrations. This will melt the surface of transformers / toys plastics on contact depending on concentration. Others can be alcohol based which are slightly more forgiving.

Usually a blend of lots of ingredients inc oils and perfumes.

However the ultimate is asda 3in1which is pretty much straight up acetone, no fancy other ingredients just acetone and water. This stuff is awesome, cleans dirt & residues off anything, even superglue.

So for the conundrum, you could set up a new ebay account, pour it into tiny containers or syringes and sell as 'ultimate strength transformers battle damage remover, guaranteed not to harm your figure'

Nope, drove over. It was on the floor and i was shuffling it to the box, having failed to orientate it properly twice already.

 

Just be careful as some nail polishes remover carries on eating the plastic even after you think you've wiped it off. It will eat through clear plastics and windscreens really quickly too.

Isopropyl is the way to go for cleaning, but even then if you soak metal parts paint can strip and clear parts can dissolve. Perfect for removing paint apps, tampos and sticker residue.
