Now that you swapped the head, you have less than one Kingdom UM. Slow and steady wins the race.
That's interesting and useful to know. I had actually thought that due to the high price of the govs, and their size that they would at least have painted faces. No way I can paint to the standard they are show on listings.
It's mainly the mechs I am looking at, so will see...
If you want a pilot for the mechs I think the warmages are the best bet. Helms cover their faces so nothing to paint. And they are not bad for their size. Hands are a bit fiddly.
I just got MP Starscream recently. (Hasbro MP3 version.) The robot size was about what I expected for am MP, but I was surprised by how much he extends in jet mode! Even with the faults (difficulty standing, limited possibility, a bit of excessive kibble) I like him a lot. Amazing alt mode.
Also that Sunstreaker was a recent purchase. Very nice figure.
I had planned on limiting my purchases of MP figures and sticking with WFC and SS86... then a I saw good deals* at a Japanese store and ended up purchasing a few recently....
*Although it worked out more than expected with delivery and processing fee. Still worth a look, if you don’t mind buying second hand.
Is that the MP Greenscream?
Such a lovely piece, though mine is boxed up in storage awaiting sale!
Gained a shoebox full of what appears to be LEGO Technic parts? Chime in LEGO fans, what do I have here?
Yup, Technic, I'm guessing 2 or 3 sets at least because of the parts diversity. The orange parts definitely aren't common.
"Favourite thing about Earth? Buddy, I just work here. You'll have to ask someone else."
Do I espy a Si-Dan Container? And, if so, did you find a better deal than Firestar Toys?(Yep, there's that Inner Yorkshireman talking again.)
Yes, and no. I like it! I'm deliberating whether or not to paint it up with some metalcote, maybe some rust as well... but it's pretty tightly connected now and I'm a little concerned about damaging the clips holding it together.
Greenscream? I.... don’t get the reference, oh wait is that a video (MP3) green screen gag ?
This is the box he came with (please ignore my crinkly quilt):
And here are a couple of pictures in his jet mode. (The second one is a bit of a mind-bender.) I haven’t taken any robot mode pictures yet, but I’ll do so later and put them in the Masterpiece Appreciation thread. I’m enjoying the plane mode for now. I know the weathering isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I think it works really well. I probably should have removed my glasses case from the background though. And I just noticed that smegging penny...
IIRC, the first Masterpiece Starscream (the Takara release) was green, for some reason.
Anyone interested in this?
Was it not the Japanese airforce colours?
Maybe? No specific reference is listed on TFWiki, thouugh it confirms the colours.
SG space dad didn't appreciate socks for Fathers Day.
Might have just got a Marvel Legends Silver Centurion in a sale for £18.18 shipped.
I say might as it's a zavvi sale with a promo code HASBRO10 for 10% off so it's 50/50 whether I get a figure or a cancellation with a refund
Yeah the original Takara MP-3 was 'green'. It was meant to look more 'real world'. Hasbro repainted it in more classic Starscream colours and what you have @Mardroid is the the later TakaraTomy release of the Hasbro version that they dubbed the 'USA edition'. Both are great, it's a fantastic and often underated mould and personally I rather like the more realistic detailing. I did cleaned all that muck off the back of mine with a cotton bud and some rubbing alcohol, worked a treat.
Not the usual Space Dad...
Amusing to think Li'l Chris took an instant dislike to this "coward" who would "quit & run out on Cybertron", and accidentally spread the Cybertronian War further!
As you can tell that attitude has somewhat shifted over time, a more mature Chris later realised (much like the dawning of the realisation of Return Of The Jedi's core message) that this paragon was at least the equal of Prime, and who had suffered an extra 4 million years of war and atrocity, and it was in fact the Nebulans' own worst impulses that brought war back to their world (Lookin' RIGHT at you, Lord Zarak - as usual the privileged elite are the problem, how far ahead of the curve was Budiansky, eh?).
Plus two-foot-tall city robots are just that damned cool!
Agree with @4249david, BomBusBee are very good and I find they generally get stock in as well after others are sold out at release.
I have POs at both Omega and BomBus. I have a friend who may want one but if he doesn’t can offer it here if he doesn’t. Just drop me a PM.
