The way Smyths are handling it Grayskull will be on sale in a few months, do the usual 'I got it because it was X% off!' beloved of women everywhere :D

I just need a version of my childhood one. This might be even better because my dad wasn't one for details and never bothered with the stickers on mine!

Oh @barry. This is what happens when you miss loads in the thread and skip through. Sorry for the loss of Rascal.

Sounds a bit like my cat who lived to the ripe old age of 17. He deteriorated quickly, so I took him to the vet and a few hours later was told I better come in soon as he wasn't good. When I got there he was pleased to see me but you could tell he was just barely hanging on, presumably just to say goodbye.

Man it happened just over 4 years ago and it's still making me upset. New lockdown easing Covid guideline approved brohugs.

@barry My condolences on Rascal, 24 really is an exceptional feat. Glad someone was with her at the end.

Ahem, I'll think you'll find that the vacuum-formed piece of junk that was 1980s Castle Grayskull was the greatest thing this little 80s kid had ever seen! It had real presence, if you were quite tiny. I think it was extra special in my head because I never had one and only saw it at friends' houses.

I've got a vacuum-formed generic "Knights of the Sword" castle playset in my parents' loft. Catapults and ballistas powered by rubber bands, die-cast, EXTREMELY static knights. Utter cheap trash, pure brilliance! Loved it!
This set in fact (not my image):

Well damn - I never noticed the classic head on the Holo Mirage before. Fingers crossed Hasbro decide to reuse that head sculpt - Selects Red Mirage?

Now that I am really looking at him closely, I see that he also has a faint "26" on his chest instead of an Autobot symbol outline and "visages" on his right spoiler (can't quite work out what is written on the left spoiler).

@barry Condolences to you and your missus. Rascal obviously lived a good life and at least your girlfriend got home in time to be with her at the end.

So I've an order with Show z store for the Dk-19 Scorponok upgrade (big orange cannon)

Never ordered from them before but for the past 5 days the tracking has been stuck on "sender despatching order" anyone here ordered from them before? Is that normal?

@barry Really sorry to hear that bud. Obviously a much loved and well looked after kitty to live to such an age.

    Today's Deskbot: HFTD Starscream.

Admittedly, I didn't dig this guy out initially for recreation reasons. I just wanted to check on the gold plastic, and i'm pleased to report it's holding up as if new.

But now he's out, he still impresses. Yes, we've had the proper MP of this character and an excellent studio Series voyager since, but on hindsight, I'm amazed that this was a mainline figure that you could walk into Sainsburys and pick up. The engineering is staggering, and the design is full of little bells and whistles that they didn't need to include, like the little spring loaded struts that sit behind his shoulders just to give that extra layer of Bayverse greeble.

I have to confess, I was a bit down on this figure when it was released. I was impressed, no doubts there, but the lack of wrist swivels bothered me to the point of distraction, which probably goes to show how spoiled I was as a collector at the time.

Time heals however, and I love this toy. I know the Bayverse era is a bit marmite for TF fans, but for me , RotF was a little golden age.

It would be the cost of the printing, cleanup, painting and postage, places like thingieverse and cults3D are clear they are there in a not for profit thing so a set of feet and the arms posted would probably be around £10 if they wanted painting. Like I say though, I’m a way off getting set up

I love seeing these pictures, but also get extremely huffy. Dragged my family to TWO TK Maxxes in Norwich and not a sausage! (Or a transformer)

I went into TK Maxx in York last week and not a whiff of one. Would love Reflector too.

@barry massive condolences on Rascal. Heart goes out to you and the Mrs.

@bcm77 “Flesh eating zombies” finish to a match.... or poor camera work on a gimmicked ramp? Answers on a postcard :lol

I did see the "Bumblebee Vision" AR thing, where you put a smartphone in a helmet and wave your hand at cardboard templates.

@we_are_forest or anyone else would you be able to pick up a Refracktor for me please at cost + shipping? I can't get to TK Maxx. No worries if you cannot. Also Homesense might have them too as they are part of the TK Maxx family.

(Edit: Debating getting some Brunts or other Weaponisers too for army building)
