While I admit MIB 2 is a bit underwhelming it's still one of my favourite trilogies, the ending to 3 is still my favourite ending to a movie I've seen. Takes me right back to being sat in the cinema watching it.... 9 YEARS AGO??!! Christ.....

Worth it if you're ordering something else from there as well but yeah, their postage is a really hard pill to swallow

Is the site working properly now? Not sure what happened last night. Every time I tried to access the site page wouldn’t load. Did anyone else experience this?

    Good morning All.

Very nice. The temptation to have some of those in my collection is growing. Now stop it! :p  Do you have any others in that line/scale?

A UK member of the site by the name of @Tarrn (big thanks to him) was kind to sell his Movie MP Black Apple Weijiang OS Prime to me and I’ve jumped in purchasing a new upgrade head and chest section to make it more movie accurate. Those parts and the funky display base arrived on Friday from the Hong Kong TF Dino Model Store. 3 days door to door. Definitely worth perusing what they do and what they sell if you get a chance. I’m not on commission. Had to join Instagram to look at their online store and I don’t do social media (this is a close to that as I get) so having school friends and former work colleagues pop up on that was rather offputting.

Anyway, new head and chest pieces (lower abs just above the crotch and mid ab section connecting to upper region with insignia meeting the lower neck) fitted in the photos below:

    8CB6D0CD-489E-480A-8937-449D181295C5.png

No instructions and always apprehensive taking apart a figure with more complexity like this but luckily the head swap wasn’t so hard as I originally thought. On an initial observation I thought I may have to unscrew more components to get the head/neck plate removed. The fun being having screws or pieces left over. It actually took longer putting two batteries in the head due to how fiddly they are and magnets holding the head parts and visor in place interferring with the battery placement:

Old stock head and plate switched out and in hand below:

    Chest cavity before parts attached:

Quite happy to see the eyes light up when switching on as thought I may have disturbed the connections:

Very happy with the head upgrade. Chest pieces could perhaps be painted to be more metallic in appearance. Might need to consider doing that myself.

The display was $25 (discounted from $40) and $4 was the charge for shipping. The brushed metal effect is nice and the cybertronian glyphs are a sweet detail to the display. Comes with both autobot and decepticon insignias that slot on to various points on the stand:

If anyone can recommend any similar display stands, I’d be most grateful. I now need to work out which lighting for the base. I’m open to ideas or suggestions.

@nemisispringer The Karate Kid springs to mind. The Land Before time, Ferris Bueller's day off, the Breakfast club [depends on how old your son is though], Stand by me, Indiana Jones, the first Power Rangers movie?

Masters of the Universe (so unfairly slated that movie), Home Alone, any OG TMNT movie, Superman (?), Lion King or any other Disney movie really. Kindergarten Cop?

I remember it being the weakest of the three, and i haven't seen it in over 20 years, but jaysus indy and the temple of doom is a seriously fucked up film. I feel so bad for Willie through the entire thing. Indy is being such a dick for no reason and the only reason she is here is because indy kidnaps her. Still beating hearts being ripped out in very disturbing ritual sacrifices before catching fire in his hand. Not much of a story. I know the others have the melting and super aging nazis but thats nothing compared to this madness. No wonder i didn't rewatch this as much as the other two.

Kindergarten Cop made me immediately think of Twins. Comedy Arnie! Bit too old for the lad probably though, as there's at least one borderline sex scene.

Your initial list pretty much ran thru what I could think of but then 'Explorers' popped into my head, maybe 'Inner Space' though that might have a touch of adult situation-ish?

We've watched honey I shrunk the kids and addams family but I'll add hook on there.

I'll add karate kid and power rangers (already added Indiana) others are a bit too old for him he's only 7.

Would love to show him it but far too gorey, didn't realise it's an 18

Too much swearing in kindergarten cop it's a 12, we've watched all the home alones but superman and turtles are a good shout, the original batman's may be worth a go as well. I love Disneys but he's not been particularly bothered.

I tried Indy with my son (6), we got on ok till the part where a mans heart is pulled out on screen... Then it went off (at his request!)

That Mario movie was fantastic if only for a certain song that was used for the first dance when I got married!

@nemisispringer: I see you have the last star fighter on the list; bit of a class right there, love that film. I think many have chimed in with some great suggestions.

I’d also add Starchaser: the legend of Orin which is an animated “star wars-esque” affair which I remember enjoying as a kid. Oh and TF the movie! ;)

@nemisispringer Small Soldiers is a Great film for kids

The Land Before Time is also one of my favourites

Not so much classics (yet) so dont really fit your brief, but The Lego Movie and Kubo and the Two Strings are both brilliant in their own right

+1 for Kubo, all the studio Laika movies (paranorman, box trolls etc.) are good, so are studio Ghibli - howls moving castle, kiki's delivery service are two of our favourites. You could add in stardust and any of the aardman movies

Sounds interesting, we've watched the tf movie several times at this point don't you worry and all the series from g1 to car robots (barring the jap series) .

We've watched all the Laika films already, both lego movies (and batman) and most of the ghiblis which were pretty much all superb thats why we're dipping into classic stuff as its unexplored territory.

I remember there was a movie I loved as a kid, about a bunch of kids who went to space camp. One of them was a genuis but a loner and ended up befriending this robot which was a giant ball on stilts with an eye piece sticking out the top. The robot heard the kid wish he could go to space so the robot reprogrammed the shuttle to actually launch them into space and they were trying to get back down. Can't remember the name of the movie, but I watched that a few times as a kid.

Close encounters of the third kind? That's a big famous family movie.

I don't remember there being much swearing in Rocky, but that's a great movie. Batteries Not Included is a charming little movie. What about An American Tail? Would that be too scary in parts? Loved it as a kid. The Flintstones (John Goodman version).
