I’m looking for a Greenlight!

 

Both these guys arrived yesterday (from different shops). I feel like they're made for each other.

 

It's the notion that he's the only Exclusive I didn't "insure" that gives it that sweet, terrible edge! URGH!

 

I very rarely place “insurance” orders, cos that’s just how I roll.

It’ll bite me on the arse soon enough  

 

I’d imagine a large part of the reason Microsoft made this decision was to show-up Sony for their preorder shenanigans.

For those not-in-know, PS5 preorders went up... a day before they were scheduled to. And before that, Sony had an early preorder thing (?) that only “TRUE PlayStation fans” could access if they submitted their PlayStation Network details ahead of time, all to get the privilege of buying a console. And to think we complain about our preorder woes...

 

I'm not keen on it myself, Bluestreak & the Autobot Alliance are recent Outliers as they are favourite characters with a side of high likelihood of potential QC awry-ness plus higher difficulty in snagging in the first place, so it'd be totally Sod's Law if Runabout went wrong. Fings crossed this arse remains bite-free!

 

More exclusive BS, companies are so far up their own holes they don't even realise how much money they're losing. Like all those PS5s on eBay? Nobody is buying games for those. Or PSN passes, or gift cards, or even merch. Obtain an Xbox in the meantime and they really are screwed.

Same principle with Hasbro. They obviously understand the history with Runabout and Runamuck, indeed that's why they split them. But thing is if you can't get the exclusive there's a chance you won't buy his moldmate, or be in the store looking and therefore buy something else alongside.

Every single year they piss customers off whilst only hurting themselves in the long run. That's true of any large company doing exclusives.

Imagine the money they could have made around making full waves out of their exclusives. Tapes for Soundwave and Soundblaster. Runabout and Runamuck bought together. Ironhide, Prowl, and Ratchet selling like the core characters they are. Thrust and the other seekers (you can't even find Starscream!)... Dumb dumb dumb.

 

It’s simple stupidity. No doubt it’s the result of old execs hearing about these “exclusives” all the cool kids are talking about, and are insisting that the characters we WOULD buy at retail will have to be put up to retailers as special exclusives. There’s so business sense to it.

 

Same here, no sign of Bugbite from Kapow for me either.

If they had any sense they'd work with their retail partners to use pre ordering to gauge interest in releases ahead of commiting to the manufacturing process. Done properly they could maximise their profits and limit wastage on shelf warmers for themselves and their partners. They even have a way they could eliminate the middle man via Pulse if they wanted to. It just makes their decision making all the more perplexing no matter which way you look at it.

 

Decided to cushion my nerves with a consolatory Diaclone Purchase from the Kapow Black Friday Deals, come to me my System D power suits 3!

 

I have to endure that feeling until Friday at the earliest (so probably Monday) before I can start sending panic emails.

 

Been saying exactly that for ages with Hasbro. Also, what's the bloody point of tooling two small characters in the Pit set they can't use anywhere else, then making a handful of them for Pulse? It could be driving SS sales as a Micromaster 2 pack, as could the repaints and retools that make up the rest of the set.

I mean Jesus, they then randomly made the Pit available again due to popularity, by pre-order. There's teenagers who could run a business better, I'm sure of it.

 

This whole Netflix Bumblebee situation is getting a bit annoying  

 

Hasbro will probably use this as an excuse to produce 5 Bumblebee variants in the next toyline after Kingdom.

Any plans to get the yellow Hasbro KOTR ring as an extension to your display or are you just going to stick with the blue one?

 

I’ve just opened the kitchen cupboards and a jar of the wife’s omega three tablets fell and hit me square in the face.
