Snap. I really cannot be fucked with this. I have a better looking Punch/Counterpunch and a good Barricade. Not spending fucking stupid money just to get a Barricade which will probably have bollocks tolerances and a bad looking PCP.

Hasbro, how to allienate your audience in 3 months.

This is a fair complaint. In order to get all of Beast Wars season 1 show cast I had to drag my mate round ALL of Oxford with me. Argos, TRU, and a half dozen other stores I don't remember. Took me another 5 years or so to complete season 2 and 3.

Thankfully Beast Machines was so badly distributed I didnt even bother buying any.

Armada was pretty decent from what I remember, but I also remember I'd had them imported from BBTS for months before they showed them at Toyfair in London.

Yeah I remember the only place I saw Beast Machines was (Expensive, ha! compared to todays prices) imports at Forbidden Planet. I picked up Primal and Thrust and yeah I'm done. Oh except Primal Prime.

My theory at the time (pre Internet access) was that we got what was left over from the US but that was probably just my child mind/playground hearsay.

Beast machines was properly atrociously distributed and I bought none of it either due to that factor, all I saw deluxe wise was non show vehicons and other than that the weird blue deluxe primal, black tankor and supreme cheetor. Did get a deep discount huge jetstorm as a gift I enjoyed though.

Rid seemed reasonable where it was only a handful of releases we missed out on instead like skid-z, tow line, JRX, galvatron and scourge. (did see JRX, galvatron and scourge at comic shops)

Armada seemed fairly reasonable too although show characters disappeared quickly.i remember I only saw wheeljack and nemesis once and never saw any of the powerlinx guys just walls of hoist and the beast wars transmetal retools.

Don't think I ever saw roadblock or powerlinx hotshot from energon. Other than that didn't see the mirage mould, omega sentinel, quickstrike, the white landmine or slugslinger. That's where my memory stops I'm afraid as I wasnt a big cybertron fan.

    Many thanks, appreciate it!

@Underlord Yeah, you do have to wonder at the machinations that brought it back round!

It's the same figure released with a Bonus Prime Prime Master as a Prime Wars Trilogy "end cap" figure for POTP, the OG was in G1 Toy colours (darker blue, no yellow trim stripe, blue fists matching the arm blue, red hubcaps, way more paint on the Counterpunch shin details), and if you don't have him already THAT (superior) version is apparently being packed with the Wave 2 of Walmart G1-look Headmasters to take the Wave to four figures seeing as there's only Highbrow, Skullcruncher & Weirdwolf otherwise!

As someone noted in the GOC thread, that baby blue and yellow sure is close to Nightbeat's colouration, yeah?
I do wonder if the eminent detective was the original plan but BTS circumstances caused a shuffle?

The blown cover narrative though, I can't keep myself from picking at it like a scab, it's the laziest, hackiest "exciting" plot, when instead you only have to tweak it that:
    Urgh, Hasbro, HIRE ME!

I can absolutely assure you that no-one in the history of swearing has ever heard a torrent of filth such as that which issued from my mouth when I missed the Quint Pit AGAIN just earlier.

I WILL HAVE ONE. I WILL.

Speaking of, I like the ER Barricade and don't have P/CP so I guess that makes me the ideal demographic for that set then eh? Do we know when it's up for preorder?

***I FUCKING MISSED THIS AS WELL***

It was listed at 40 dollars but I've no idea if it sold out or got pulled. Like it isn't released until March!

Thanks, Bud, a whole 'Ice Cold In Alex' riff but with the twist that the Spy doesn't get outed just popped into my head, you could even end on a riff on the final bar scene but with Counterpunch now trusted by Barricade it'd be way more tense and cliffhanger-y.

I dunno, to me putting out a figure that's a spy under the aegis of him having been discovered is up there in dunderheadedness with putting out a figure of a character that's been totally killed off but there again we've gotten a Rotorstorm, an Impactor, and even a totally deceased Prime at this point! Even I got 2 out of those three! :lol

Amazon Galactic Barricade set available and now shipping to the uk... but shipping is about the same price as the figures!

I have placed an order and will try switch shipping once they sort it out (hopefully).

Alright, that actually made me chuckle. It’s an attempt at a narrative, and I enjoy it quite a bit.

nonetheless, it can get fucked. You know what? I’m gonna say it.

    Fuck you, Hasblow!!!!!

Now that that’s out of the way, what a waste of a two pack. A cartoon-accurate deco for a figure that appeared in about one episode, when the rumour of a straight reissue would have made more sense. And the Barricade being sold at a premium price somehow fucks it the Guidi deco by having purple shoulder guns, rather than gold for all the guns. If you’re gonna charge a premium price for the pack, you can’t hide behind “budget restraints.” Do it right or don’t do it at all. Seriously, all they needed was 2ml of gold paint and the job would be done.

frankly, I don’t have the highest hopes for TFs in 2020. I’m gonna buy Trailbreaker and Netflix Soundwave, and after that I’m just gonna hope that Kingdom doesn’t have paint that scorches human skin or Primal spontaneously combusts if you turn the thigh the wrong way.

I have a knack of being in the loo when packages come. Fortunately I live with my family so SOMEONE is able to get the door :lol

Oh man, Woolworths. That takes me back. I can't specifically remember getting Transformers there but I do have a memory of being in the one in Wales where I lived at the time with my Dad and he said I could pick a toy and he'd buy it for me and I picked the MMPR White Ranger figure, my favourite character! :)
I know I got other toys from there but I can't remember specifics... we did have the handy thing that the Mum of a friend of mine was a cashier there and she'd often use her staff discount on us ^^

    :lolol

Ferret news always makes me happy <3

"You weren't supposed to announce that yet!!!"

    The... Butts Centre? o_O

Between us my brother and I had all the limbs for Superion and Defensor :lol  Never had Silverbolt or Hotspot though. I vaguely remember seeing Hotspot in a shot years later but didn't pick him up at the time, partly because the shop owner was kind of glaring at us.

The guy headbutting the door amuses me greatly.

Hah, my brother had Crossbows and Catapults! :D

Oh man B5 Micro Machines. I got the one pack I ever saw of them in my local toy shop of the time, much to the chagrin of my brother who admittedly was the original B5 fan in my house xD Oh well. We both also had a lot of the Star Trek and Star Wars MMs :)

And on the topic of seeing Beast Wars figs in the wild, I remember oogling them often in my long deceased local toy shop Gamleys - this is after moving to England - and I do remember seeing one of the Beast Optimi shelf-warming quite often. I know I got some BW figs but I can't remember if I got them from there specifically.

That was the shop where I bought the first LEGO sets that started my return to LEGO after several years absence - LEGO VIKINGS!

That toyshop sounds awesome! I have very vague memories - as in I was probably less than 10 at the time - of a toy shop again in wales, which we would go to semi regularly as kids where my brother would get model kids and Scaletrix stuff and I would usually come away with something for Tomy Trains which was this fun little young kid aimed toy train line with chonky trains and suspiciously LEGO compatible studs on the engines and stuff. Great fun especially as I was still big into LEGO at the time. But I remember that shop had that small toyshop feel to it of being in an older building - I vaguely remember a possibly curved staircase going upstairs and with displays of model kits and toys and stuff. Probably had a traintrack snaking around it too. Oh man I've not thought about that in years :)

If I were ever going to pay through the nose for Punch/Counterpunch it would certainly be THAT deco.

I've not seen the official one but I like your story!:thumb
