    Morning all.

Hmmm. How do I put this...

Buy another one from Smyths, and return the faulty one. I did that with ER Arcee, the firsts bonnet was not assembled properly, so the button and left fender area was all gappy. I was uhming and ahhing about returning it and thought I missed my window when she sold out. But I saw another after a restock so *yoink*. I felt like it was such a small thing for a return hut the shop manager agreed something was wrong.

Might be more problematic as you've glued rhe wing back on though.

Slowing down on collecting? Unfortunately (fortunately?) I've been trying to do this for a decade almost. I started collecting as an adult in 2000, picking up very select toys. Mainly I was new to the whole ordering online thing because it was 'expensive' importing this stuff from overseas. By 2010 because Hasbro UK was actually getting stuff to stores I was buying a LOT. Mostly retail, because it was so easy. In 2011 DOTM came along and I actively tried to cut back.

For me, it feels like those days again. I sold a bunch of unopened toys, and my enthusiasm for so called 'exclusive' toys is slipping back. ER Prowl and Ratchet? Ehhh. I guess I am becoming (HAHAH becoming?) a bad kollectr. Strictly casual. But as @Darc said, it's not supposed to be stressful.

    *sigh*

Anyway, got to go, got a 9am shoot booked.

I can’t say I am slowing down collecting (apart from 3rd party and MP figures - they are drastically reduced), but I can say that I am selling roughly about as much as I am picking up. Space is a factor, but I also find that figures stay in boxes for a while before I open them. That’s not a good sign!

I too will be going shooting my bow later, but only on my new toy (Picked up a Oculus quest 2)... just don’t know if it will be on Apex Construct or In Death Unchained... need to decide which to buy!

I think you are onto something too, we’re all burnt out on exclusives, FOMO is off the chart and the sheer volume has made it completely unmanageable for some in the current circumstances.

Hoping for a relative return to normality next year in all walks of life may do something to alleviate a lot of the “jumping off” sentiment.

That said, there are some really valid sentiments in here about “definitive” versions, *but* we’ve only had Scourge (for the sake of argument) done twice since 2012 and they are still finding other characters to make me part with my cash. I wonder how obscure they’ll go?o_O

I’m already looking at that SS’86 Jazz and wondering if we’ll get Kick-Off or Jackpot instead of Stepper/Ricochet? Those two are literally begging to be paired off with Battlmasters.

That’s without me starting about “missing” Powermasters, Targetmasters and Headmasters, them doing the Omnibots, Triggerbots, Triggercons, Sparkabots, Firecons, The Thrrotlebots, Pretender Beasts, Micromaster Transports....

....I haven’t started on G2 yet and this is just me being a gee-wunner. Full RID 2000 Chug line anyone? More Beast Wars? I’ve always had a soft spot for the Unicron Trilogy too...

As a wise man once said; “You check in, but you don’t check out” :p

If anybody wants a Siege Brunt, complete (including box, instructions) for £20 shipped, let me know. Bought it, didn't like it.

Toys for sale, toooys for sale... and games.
Yes any of this lot could be yours, but being a plank I've left it until the last minute to do this, again. So some of this (UT stuff in particular) is ending in the next few hours!

@DeadBiscuit Your further investigation is much appreciated! I thought I was going bats because though they look identical, yet still I was wondering myself if the windscreen & roof section were slightly different proportions!
It does seem you've near as dammit proven that both the bonnet and canopy are different between the two body types, and I think possibly the shins/rear windscreen sections too Smokey's painted rear windscreen frame corners seem to have a minimally slightly gentler curve to their corners. I took my tailor's tape to them both this morning, and double-checking numerous times it seems the distance from the central split around the corner to the bottom well of the small side window is just under 2cm on 'Streak, and just about 2cm on Smokey.
I am somewhat reassured that it's the figure and not me! :p

Managed to get a Pre-order in for Runabout, funny as I wasn't gonna pick up Runamuck due to his figure looking real plain, and having no attachment to the Battlechargers, but Runabout's figure looks awesome, Red and Black is one of my favourite colour combinations so I had to have him. So now I'll have to pick up Runamuck to complete them!

Gutted about Thrust but will hold out that he'll be available here somewhere/somehow. Dirge and Ramjet need their team mate.

I was only in for getting Sunstreaker and Fasttrack from wave 3, but recently been spending a lot of time with Hoist (Recently got Toyhax labels and gap fillers for him and then couldn't put him down for ages) so now my interest for Trailbreaker has shot up, and the aforementioned Runamuck is a must...so now I'm probably in for all of Wave 3 Deluxes.

    And also want Netflix Bee...

I'm constantly running out of space and having to get creative on where I put figures now! :lol

Man earthrise really does feel like some monkeys paw bullsh*t! Spot on g1 earth alt modes and bots inc VW bug, g1 accurate and in scale with each other, full set of deluxe cars and voyager s1 cons (with siege) BUT poor distribution and region locked exclusive BS to complete teams including a trio being spread out as exclusives to two separate retailers.

Alright which one of you wished on the monkey paw? Fess up.

I see! Thanks for the answer :)

I suspect the instructions are rendered out - in a lineart format - from the CAD files so it wouldn't surprise me if sometimes you get oddities of things that work fine in CAD but don't work with the actual physical toy for whatever reason. Assuming their likely proprietary CAD software has some form of simulation in it for tolerances, weight etc it's possible it still misses things as simulations can only simulate what they're programmed to afterall. I seem to remember reading something on TFWiki about some figure having an error in instructions to do something which is physically impossible, not that I remember which figure of course. :lol

TBH I feel like toy collecting, like playing videogames is somewhere where you have to question why being considered a 'casual' should be an insult? Ultimately both things are supposed to be fun so if you're not having fun you don't need to hold yourself up to some other person's standards.

What’s the best way to get add-on packs in the UK? I have my eyes on that one Exhaust add-on that comes with the two-part missile launchers and transparent blue wings.

As FM says, TFSafari is a good place to get them. It’s where the bulk of mine have come from.

Afternoon all, hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday and to those waiting for replies back I will get to you shortly just had a busy week :)

Quick question for those who may have caved and picked up an import Gigawatt from ID Toys, does anyone else have a hard time with getting Mr Fusion to plug in securely on the back of the Delorean? I know PrimeVsPrime had the same issue in his review but was wondering if maybe nail polish might help tighten the connection. Just a bit apprehensive about taking it to him because the plastic feels different to Siege Sideswipe, almost sort of waxy but not like Siege Apeface.

    Cheers!

Turns out that particular kit for Exhaust is from Nonnef, and the minimum spending requirement for buyers outside of the US is $50, so if I’m getting an Exhaust kit it’ll be probably a different one from TFsafari. Thanks lads!
