To be completely fair, Cliffjumper feels more like a deluxe than a scout but maybe I’m just trying to justify the cost. In terms of Micromasters I’ve enjoyed them immensely even though I’d never knew about them before considering I’m not a G1 kid, but I am a UT kid so they remind me of Mini-Cons and maybe that’s why. Ironworks has swayed me and now I’m hunting down all the micros.

I’ve completely missed the battlemasters, I have Rung and Smashdown from Siege already but Soundbarrier and the snake dude just don’t interest me at all. Maybe I liked the weapons more instead of the ramps.

He has all the functionality of a current Deluxe which is why he has to fit in that price point, but in a previous life he'd have been a £10 Scout.

I don't have the problem so many outside this thread have with Cliff - I'm just glad we got him done so well - but Hasbro killed Scouts, and then Legends, so there's nowhere else for him to go. IMG_20200516_190928.jpg

Absolutely right, it did raise an eyebrow from me when they announced that they’d be dropping the scout and legend class and replace it with micro and battlemasters. If we get more like Cliffjumper then that’s perfectly fine by me. He’s one of my favourites.

Worse than that IIRC the T30 Legends with Partners went to £16.99!
Even adjusting for inflation that's a LOT of Pocket Money in a world where the next fidget spinner or 5POA cheapo The Corps style action figure or whatever could be a Fiver or under, then dropped to £9.99 without the wee Target-come-Micro-masters and no gear apart from essential partsforming (if they weren't a re-tool/re-use with a standard gun) by POTP only The Entertainer and maybe the odd indie were stocking 'em on the high street. Then they were GAWN.

Hello, Micromasters, brace yourselves for that sheer wall and do try to get a grip on it, chaps! *BAM!*

I wonder if we might seem them taking a punt on "Legends" rescaled to ER Deluxe Cliffjumper size but, much like the CW Legends, without gear (barring any partsforming bits like Cliffy's back end) at a median between £10 to under the £19.99 of Deluxe RRP, like say £13.99 - £15.99?

As it stands with the Wave 2 patrol/squads looks like I may have to bundle a snakeramp/psychologist duo with another Ironworks, I've had an idea for Junkion-ing one thanks to @Xaran Alamas.
Which by the way reminds me, did some 3P do an upgraded working claw for Grapple? Or is anyone not bothered about their ER Grapple's gripper, I'd be willing to recompense someone for an extra for my Eeeeevil Exploits!

Great job there Hasbro, we really didn’t need those HORRIBLE little micromasters, like who wants that two-part shuttle combiner? You know, the one that you got NASA licensing for? Yeah, it’s boring! Good thing you remembered to import these beauties though.

Transformers that only transform halfway has got to be up there with Transformers that don't Transform for strangest Transformers concepts for me.

Also a cheeky quick Q for Scorpy Early Adopters: Please could you have a look around his bod for any potential TR clip points like on Omega's tracks?

Again though, there’s a ton more plastic in CJ than the scouts in previous lines. Placed next to, say, POTP Beachcomber he is a considerable step up in mass and quality of construction. That doesn’t necessarily justify the full deluxe price, but it’s not as cynical as first glance.

The Thwomp Lego set is now listed as a Smyths exclusive but it’ll still probably be released on Lego [email protected]

I’d love for Hasbro to bring back legends for the next live action movie in the form of another try at the DOTM Cyberverse play pattern. It is my absolute favourite toyline ever, it had a sense of scale despite being tiny and allowed for micromaster-style bases years before Earthrise did them.

Been meaning to try a little project for quite a while and finally managed to get round to doing it whilst dusting the ol' Detolf.

I had a spare copy of a Hatchet comic book so decided to put it to use as a backdrop:

Just FYI, the Amazon Echo Dot with LED clock is £30 on Amazon. There's a summer sale on. If that's useful...

Agreed. Transformers that don't transform are action figures. What the heck are these half way houses? Garbage.

Yeah I totally agree with this, I’d love it if they bring back Legends (or even better, the Scout class) as an intermediate between some of the cheaper toys like Battlemasters/Micromasters & Deluxes.

Mainly because we get an average of approx. 16 general retail Deluxes in any given year, & there’s still a new Huffer/Pipes, 5 Throttlebots, 3 Sparkabots, 2 Firecons, 6 Triggerbots/cons plus legitimate redos of Gears, Warpath, Cosmos, Cindersaur plus 3 Insecticons (not including the Deluxes!) & who knows what else!

Just doing the above would take up several years of Deluxes, and I’d hate to see spots taken up by the smaller bots if we could get them in a separate line at a slightly lower price.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled with Cliffjumper & his complex transformation, but I’d be just as happy with something like the old TR Brawn or PotP Beachcomber, those are still amazing toys even without a weapon, waist swivel & ankle tilts.
