I used to, haven't bought any in a bit because I got sick of dealing with customs and the exchange rate. Which is a shame, because some of the 01 designs are pretty cool.

I was asking because I was wondering if the stickers on the metsubou-riders where worse than on grease.

That is one of the endearing things about this journey into the whole Sunbow and Marvel run (not just Transformers). On the one hand, you get moments like this of naïve innocence (even by the standards of adults in the 1980s). While on the other, you'd have someone knowingly push the limits of what could be written for a kids cartoon, even in syndication.

Yeah, the note from Flint Dille where he lays out the saturday kids cartoon tropes they were looking to avoid (end episodes with the cast laughing etc) was really interesting!

I always liked the look of “Marlboro Wheeljack” so I was exited when MP Exhaust was announced. I think I just find Red and white very striking and the alternate head is very interesting. I’m so glad that IronFactoy released him. Wheeljack was already one of my favourite Carbot releases. I think Dustfog may edge out G2 Sideswipe as my top favourite. Only time will tell.

That''s above my knowledge, sorry! I didn't find Grease too bad, so there's every chance Jin/Horobi might be worse, but I don't know.

Similar thing from Steve Gerber in the G.I Joe Writer's Guide as well. Flint mentions in his convention appearances that he was moved sideways from Joe to TF because Griffin and Bacal were "unhappy" with how the show was going.
He doesn't expand on what that means, but I interpret part of that displeasure as having to do with the fact that they were paying Marvel to provide story editors (remember, anything Marvel did on these shows, they did as a contractor), who were allowing the very same goofy stock plots that the client didn't want.

Granted, the subsequent episodes did occasionally fall in to stock plots and clichés. But the fact is when you're 7 months away from broadcasting 49 half-hours of TV, it is hard to change the direction of a show midway through. Certainly the four shows for '86 had a better handle on what they wanted to be.

Can I ask where folks buy their store Transformers?

I've only bought them in Smyths if they were at a rock bottom price or that happened to be million to one convenient. Because even a Smyths store manager on here said Hasbro can't sort them with stock.

Forbidden Planet prices usually aren't worth considering!

If I got extremely lucky TK Maxx or somewhere would be selling leftover stock, but by then I've usually got what I needed anyway.

The Entertainer never seems to have stock for, well, almost anything.

Honestly, from the entire Siege line my store purchases can be counted on one hand. That's patently ridiculous, so are you guys luckier with distribution, or just have a really good local independent?

Or do you simply shop online to avoid all the above?

Having a great end to an 80s scifi film fest this week. Finishing off with Dune 1984.

Such brilliant and well acted set pieces, like watching a shakespearean play, quite apt considering the actors.

LOVE '84 Dune and am VERY interested to see what Denis Villeneuve does, having heard rumblings of a heavy Lynch version influence on the designs I'm wondering if that extends to the Weirding Way or if they'll go with a more "Desert Kung Fu" styling.

Predictably, I have caved - GIMME IT I WANT IT!!!

Turns out they also include magnetic bases?! I did not realise that, it's gonna make for quite some intriguing possibilities regarding my flagrant misuse of 'em!!!
    Roll on, February!

They showed some character designs for Paul, Leto and Jessica from the upcoming graphic novel adaptations due after the first film and they are very much like the Lynch costumes - the stillsuit is two colours and has a few accessories like pouches etc though.
