Have confirmed that my Siege Apeface was delivered to my girlfriend's house, so I'll be getting him on Sunday. My first full-sized Siege figure, though I'd have more battle masters if the damn things had shown up at retail past wave 1. Is a sensibly priced pteranadon-axe combo too much to ask for? (Apparently, yes).
Siege Jetfire is currently £65 on Amazon, is that a good price? And is he worth it?? got £55 in amazon vouchers for Christmas, wondering whether I go in on Jetfire now or wait for some Earthrise stuff to start showing up
PROMOTE THAT MAN! That's just the sort of initiative we need in the field!
I might settle for just painting his hubcaps red, unless they turn out to be retractable wonder wheels that don't hinder the transformation. I've seen a Constructbot wheels mod, and Lord knows I got plenty of 'em but I just don't fancy putting the elbow grease into it for Crosshairs (yet).
I do quite fancy some kinda add-on that'd plug into his Ironhide bumper to give his Moonvan something a bit more like his G1 pincer-ish nose.
He was £50-55 for 2 weeks around black friday. Still well worth it at £65.
I know D: I remember waiting to be paid so I could get him then but I missed out on it, I don't think I want to miss out on it again but it's a lot of money
First order for 2020 was FT Roadking.
Second and third are preorders for FT Ice Man [Air Raid] and Magnum [Wildrider].
So far liking this very light touch n go approach to the hobby. Don't think I'll grab other figures in-between, but then again I've been wrong before
Have started re-reading MTMTE these days. My memories of the series are very rose coloured, but first twelve or so issues are genuinely awesome.
He's worth full rrp tbh. No risk with amazon. Price drop, buy at new price and return new box at old price or speak on chat and you get a part refund usually.
Went ahead and bought, all I needed was 1 person to push me over the edge, thank you!
Well, it's finally happened. I've lost the Chinese eBay lottery. Just have to wait for another month and a half before the wildly unlikely projected arrival date is up and I can claim a refund. BUMHOLES.
My rabbit is running around flicking his long hair (and ears) like he is on a Pantene commercial. I’ve checked him over and he seems perfectly fine. He just had a moment of being Fabulous.
Unfortunately he’s weirdly camera shy and seems to know when I’m doing it and balls up into Sphinx Tea Cosy mode.
IF Mini One Man Army is still awesome.
Cliff Jumper Van Damme
Amazon US (even with shipping and tax the smaller items are often way cheaper), or do an order for a handful of them from Cards and Games maybe?
EDIT - Also, where did you get Ape Face if you don't mind me asking?
I watched Treads a few years ago and couldn't sleep properly for a few days after. This was when the Cold war was over, can't imagine how I would have been if I'd watched it back in the day
Oh, and does anyone remember Puddle Lane? The tv show for preschoolers which had that nightmare fuel cauldron!
I was terrified of this as a kid!
Glad you're OK @incapable hulk.
So. New bot thoughts. Apeface first.
Robot mode is lovely. Big chonky Deceptigrunt. Feet are fiddly and I wish the white plastic was less milky but overall good.
Also robot toes are weird.
Jet mode is fun if daft and blocky. Feels sufficiently alien enough.
Gorilla mode is...meh. It looks OK but is a faff to get to...and this is where the figures main problems lie. His transformation is fiddly and requires lots of small tabs to lock together to get him in gorilla mode, which affects the other two modes a bit. 6/10?
Pteraxadon is a lovely little pteranodon. That turns into an axe and a gun and comes with a fun weapon part. Not much else to say. Probably one of the more interesting weaponizers.
Funny you should mention Puddle Lane, so close to my elegy for the Late Neil Innes 'cuz he WAS that story-telling Wizard!?!
@Lothar Hex The wee fella can also do a passable Straxus-ish pick axe or single-bladed axe with a rear beak. Best of the melee masters IMHO, especially in comparison to Lionizer's 50%/60% cat sword mode!
I'm aware that I watched it and had seeing some of the Ladybird books, yet don't remember that. Then again, I was between 3 and 7 during it's run.
Youth Deathwish and Siege Apeface will be with me on Monday. This is a saucy fucking Janvier.
To be fair, a lot of vintage UK kids tv was pretty dark! Grange hill had its fair share grit, and does anyone remember the animals of farthing wood? Christ. The hedgehogs got run over, vixen got her ear ripped off and kestrel went feral and impaled the mouse family on a thorn bush! If I recall correctly that is, it's been a while!
Well, lest we forget. We were a generation raised on Public Information Films from the 70's and early 80's that were still being shown during kids' TV into the mid-90's. I remember BBC would show some of them at Closedown to REALLY get the nightmares going.
