If you want Old Man Logan to replace Logan on DVD, just go and buy Unforgiven. As with most things Millar writes it has very little originality in it, but he is the master of the remix and marketing. Fair play to him.

His late nineties work has not aged well.

With the PE head, Bludgeon can look properly demonic.

He sauntered in for his soundcheck 5 minutes after Doors, that's some real commitment to the Irish/Aussie lackadaisical Laissez-faire stereotype! :lol

I'm of the opinion that everything MIllar has ever written is a massive pile of s**t, but I'm clearly out of step with the majority of comics readers.

    Things I *really* hate

When a character makes a joke and then a few pages later another character says "oooh that's so clever/funny (i.e Mark, you're so funny, love, Mark)"
    Scenes of torture
    Magneto eats human flesh
    Torture
Killing Northstar and going "Oooh, I didn't know he was gay, I've *never* tried to be shocking"
Incest, incest, incest (there's some in OML IIRC and obviously the Ultimates)
    Torture
That bloody awful issue where he meets The Flash in Coatbridge for a pint
    Obligatory Holocaust references
    Torture

He also pronounces his surname incorrectly.

EDIT - Just remembered that Red Son mostly isn't bad. Until the ending. So there's that.

You mean the story from an idea by Grant Morrison, mostly Ghost co-written by Morrison as a favour to an ill then-friend?

I'd also add Wanted's literal 'F*** you, comics fans!' ending.

I didn't know it was Morrison's idea, but given Morrison absolutely loves superheroes (especially Supes) and Millar can't stand them, it doesn't surprise me. (Conicidentally, Morrison wrote my fave comic series of all-time)

Another Millar highlight - killing Goliath. And having him buried in chains. In a comic called *Civil War*.

    Anyhoo - Robits.

Rearranged my Wreckers shelf today. As per my six-monthly request schedule - if anyone has a Mech Ideas Gauntlet they're thinking of selling, please drop me a line - Assuming you accept *cash*

Wait a year or so for Helex. Get Helex. Put Helex at back of picture, out of focus. Great work, Napalm   :lol

It wouldn't have been so bad if it'd been Goliath I or II but, nope, Millar had to off Bill Foster AKA Black Goliath with a character whose Mythological roots have been co-opted by certain alt right factions to boot! He's been doing disgraced comedian "you can't say anything these days" BS for donkeys now, he's about as edgy as Deep Space, not even a surface just pure void.

On a far more pleasant comics note:-

Started reading Giant Days last week. Oooft, what a great book. I also enjoyed HoxPox, and think the latest issue of IDW Transformers 2.0 was easily the best so far.

I need to get back to Giant Days. And WicDiv. And probably a thousand others. I need to read more comics.

Yes, Giant Days is great. The fact that it's technically a spinoff from Allison's far weirder Scary Go Round and Bad Machinery webcomics just makes its relative normality even better.

So I'm halfway through the Decepileaders now, five more to go. It occurs to me that this mad fucker could inch its way in through a loophole to become number 11. Too big for my photo area, near impossible to light correctly, a nightmare to transform... But still a bit of a charmer.

Anyone after 4 of the Jinbao O/S Constructions? Nice leg up to ease you into finishing the set. Bonecrusher, Scavenger, Mixmaster and Scrapper - £60 for the four.

I don't suppose any of you guys would be interested in the Hasbro reissue editions of G1 Skywarp, Prowl and Red Alert at all before I try eBay?

All are boxed and complete. Was looking for £35 posted each.

It's getting close to the end of Carbootsale season this weekend I got a few items of modest interest. a Max Steel Monster ( The main baddie I forget his name he's about 10" tall though), a Tomy Robot Anti-Terror Squad Vehicle (a Zoids Offshoot that is pushing 40 years old) Not perfect condition but not terrible either, some Robot Heroes (including Jazz and Rumble) & a few hotwheels.

Glad to get the RH Jazz though he'd elluded me until now.

I cannot comment on anything else he's done, it's literally the first Wolverine story I've ever read in full and the first time I've even heard the name Mark Millar.

I don't have a long history of reading comics and went in with no pre conceived ideas. I've been picking out stories at random on the list of free stuff on the site where I read it and went with it due to being familiar with various action figures of Old Man Logan.
