Deskbot stealth kitty.
All the best
It's Generation Toy Bulance.
Yeah chest is pretty great, do like how the front wheels spin in around and on themselves to compress in for robot mode, the front panel where the insignia is folds down to reveal the combiner peg
New Toy Day! And ofc they all arrive on the same day like buses lol First up is a nice pair from Kapow Toys LTD.
Now I can finally make an updated IDW Wreckers pic
That's a lot of sticky paper Try not to take years to apply them like some of my massive backlog lol
Hmmmm...or perhaps a Micromaster at deluxe scale is enough plastic budget to squeeze out a construction base/comms tower maybe?
Well, up for some smaller base bits me!
I wasn't aware of the Blue versions but kudos to Hasbro for the 'Red Baron' version,
Like many toys this one is coloured for me by how unlikely it is to find one complete second hand,
at one stage I only had a misfit of both colours mixed.
I seem to remember his bio was (and I'm paraphrasing),
'he chose this alt mode, but soon realised it was actually a bit shit'
Thanks. Sounds like a sweet transformation.
The money shot!
Wonder where @Convoy and @Skjalddis go
What he said. Campus is a jungle this week!
Addendum on my old G1/T:30 Springer ramble, which can be found over here...on the off chance you missed it.
So uh, how do you improve on perfection?
Well, easy I guess. You just got to a different well of inspiration and do it right all over again.
So you've probably seen Siege Springer by now. As I write this he's been out on general release for a good while. So it'll surprise no-one when I report that this is a seriously handsome 'bot. He really does look like he's stepped right off the screen from the '86 movie onto my desk.
It's all there, the righteous rugged facesculpt, the broad shoulders and lithe, athletic limbs (can robots be athletic?). And he's so poseable. My camera has certainly loved him these past few weeks. I've had to make a conscious decision to take snaps of other figures and non-wrecker/'86 movie groups, so seductive is this little fiend. The dual swords sure don't help, though they're not as clever as the T:30 version. And that deco is stunning. Perhaps some might that vivid green a bit much, but not I!
So, something's got to suck about it, right? Right! And it's the transformation. Whereas other figures like Shockwave, or Prowl have been great fun to transform, Springer reminds me of the worst aspects of yer Masterpiece and 3P furstrating fiddleformer. I find myself fumbling and grumbling as I try to get everything to line up just so. Exhaling a weary sigh as I almost get there just to find the waist isn't quite perfectly aligned and thus it won't all tab together. And may I just say that whoever is in charge of the instructions needs a firm word. I swear those things are getting harder and harder to see clearly, nevermind the actual clarity of the instructions themselves.
And is all the hassle even worth it?
Enh. I think I've actually quite enjoyed when Siege has taken liberty with alt modes. The tetrajets aren't just slavishly faithful to those shots on the first episode. They take some liberty and make something that feels true to what we know but is a much more satisfying toy. With this it feels like they've tried to stick as closely to the G1 cartoon alt modes as they could. And I don't think those were ever such a great source.
I'm probably being a little harsh. They're alright alt mode. The armoured car is kinda cool and the helicopter...well, there's nothing wrong with it, you know? It's just neither of them are worth the hassle of transforming him. So in astonishingly handsome robot mode he shall stay!
So, it's a high class problem to have, but after taking a solemn vow to not keep multiple versions of CHUG figures and flog off the excess, I find myself with a friend for Siege Magnus; a guy that won't go on the CHUG/IDW shelf but is just too damn good not to keep.
Anybody need Siege Caliburst, Firedrive, Blowpipe or Storm Cloud & Visper?
Also selling DOTM Megs and Shockwave...
If those are all battlemasters then yes!
That is handy. Hope it heals up quickly buddy! And I agree, Dial certainly is the nicest of the four.
Totally jealous of your Multiforce. I had the KOs as a kid and had endless fun with them. Would love to see modern updates in the style of POTP Battletrap.
Teensy. MMC Megs is between Voyager and TR/CW style leader sized (from what I remember when I had him) and Flame Megs is shorter than Siege Prime. But the lack of a decent fusion cannon on MMC Megs was certainly a factor in me selling it on.
Ironworks must be Ironfist right? Cause Hasbro don't have the trade mark
I think Weaponizer Micromaster bases would work well. Like @Seeaich points out at the deluxe price point they could make for decent little towers and the like? Would be interesting if they could combine with each other? Voyager scale would an interesting experiment.
Lovely Springer write-up Mr Barry
Feel better soon dude. I picked it up too, my stomach was killing me Sunday and Monday, and last night my nose was leaking like a tap. Feeling better now though, so hopefully tomorrow shall bring better health for you too.
Good luck dude! May all the assignments be easy, and the students union well stocked!
I’m jealous of whomever had them before me. They must have had all the bits to form Landcross!
I am not a big fan of the movies, but the jet mode on Studio Series Starscream is something else.
With the explicit Sunbow aesthetic, an MP Cliffjumper changing into more or less the same car as Jazz could be a thing, I suppose.
Or they could cop out and do a "Red Bumble" release.
Or he'll be a Mini Cooper
I *really* hope that Ironworks is a Siege Ironfist. I would be super happy. MechFansToys' version was on Ebay a few weeks back for £50 and went unsold... but it's a bit too small for my liking and the legs look off.
That actually makes a lot of sense with Ironfist. And like @Rotorstorm has done, make him a siege hound remould.
And thanks. Currently sat here at my desk, doused up on medicine and with my jacket on trying to sweat the bugger out.
Was watching the Bumblebee movie with my kids the other day. My eldest loved it and wanted to see more. So the next day we watched the first movie. Which he also liked. He was absolutely astonished when Brawl transformed to Robot mode in the final battle
I'm about, just haven't had anything to post, really. I've mostly been active on Instagram posting Gunpla stuff. I'm also a founding member of a new Gunpla building team called Casual Grade Builders, who you can also check out on Insta.
