Can't say I'm keen on the shift to Earth so soon, but the retooled Siege Prime with the correct coloured eyes is fucking delicious so we'll let it slide. Ironworks looks incredible, Grapple looks a treat. Yes slide, let it all slide down my gullet.

Bragging rights!!! Of course I'm going to be calling Ironworks 'Man of Iron'. Christ, how I wish they'd actually done that!

Ironworks looks really good. I'm genuinely glad they're continuing the Weaponiser concept and taking it in a new direction. They're going to be great connecting up to Omega, and in turn a bigger Cybertronian city along with all those other base modes. Super exciting.

Grapple looks stunning. I wish he had the black helmet, like the toy and comic, but that's a minor and petty quibble. I'm already looking at him as a contender for 'bot of the year. Cannae wait to see the real thing on Thursday. I must admit, like many others here, I'm already missing the Cybertronian alt modes.

Which leads me neatly to Prime. So, obviously, that's an incredibly good looking Prime. Sure, it does look like 'just' a retool, but that seems appropriate. And I don't like it and I'm not getting it. Even though that trailer looks like it does have the base connectors. Which is deeply tempting. It's going to make zero impression on the decision making process, but I'm going to vote with my wallet and say no to getting flogged another definitive Optimus. It almost felt more...honest when they'd redo another character, like Motormaster or Octane as an Optimus 'pretool'.

And to balance out that negativity, I cannot wait to see Wheeljack and Hoist. Maybe we'll still get a Cybertronian Wheeljack? Seems like a slim chance, right?

Grapple is suprisingly nice. My first thought was "watered down Masterpiece" but have amended that to "What a Masterpiece Grapple might have been like before the Sunbow obsession became a thing" as the proportions and amount of sculpted surface details suggest a variety of design influences.

Oh balls. I was waiting on Kapow for the seacons.

Earthrise looks great. I will always put money down for a G1 Optimus with trailer just for the sheer, wistful nostalgia kick it provides. Grapple looks lovely and it’s all very mini masterpiece. Oddly I find myself in two minds as I already have Masterpiece versions of some of these so why would I replace RTS Grapple with one that looks like the Masterpiece I already own. But I’ll probably still buckle.

The true treasure for me is in the reveal that Micromaster bases will be making a comeback in this line. I adore the MM bases and this is such a clever way to introduce them, as well as taking the modular concept to a new extreme.

That's the nub innit, whilst there's some truly cynical moves right here with the instant OP re-do and suddenly we're on Earth-moding after the sweet Andersonian SF vehicles of Siege with promise of potentially more but that rock salt shotgun blast to the face turns out to have actually been sugar, mmm, sweetness!
Based Weaponizers is pretty genius, I dig 'em already but a part of me is hoping too far we get one in Fort Max blue that might make him an arm garage!

    EDIT:
So overwhelmed with awesomeness, I've only just clock Earthrise OP has an actual Matrix!

God damn. Even though I love Siege Prime, I'm going to have to get this. I'm starting to realise I may be an Optimus Prime slut... :lol

    Aren't we all?
I knew we'd surely get a perfect Earth mode Prime after the amazing execution of Siege Prime but NEXT YEAR and with a Trailer?!
There'd better be a Roller Weaponizer to boot!

That's be great. The only thing I don't like the look of is the underside of the trailer, it's a bit too open and the wheels look odd with nothing surrounding them.

    Also, the new play pattern for the line sounds interesting;

A customisible battlefield sounds like it has a lot of potential.

Yeah, I somewhat expected something akin to that after the Studio Series Prime trailer though the result is somewhat better than I was actually expecting. I'm hoping that there's some kind of attachment point under there for something that can fill that gap, like an upcoming Weaponizer of something. Or if not we get a 3P filler
    Hmm, A.I.R., eh?
What do we reckon that means? Autobot Integrated Ramps/Roadways? Or some other acronym that basically means "has 5mm pegs to attach on bases and base bits"?

Well, considering Prime's arm shield-thing has the same connection points as Omega Supreme...

    ...probably, yeah. :lol

Yeah, and it's a segment of his trailer door too, which for some reason tickles me extra! :lol

By the way, where did you find Grapple's blurb? I love a bit of blurbage, me!

Because both those base modes are the schizz!!!
I've only just realised that's actually a pretty damned good replication of Comms tower mode without the windmill blades dish antenna! Amazeballs!

Well there's obviously going to be more of these bases coming out, so you won't be short of pieces to mix and match. Looks like the point of them coming apart is just to assemble as different configurations of bases though, as they don't seem to be particularly weapon-like in component parts. Fair enough, but as someone who isn't particularly fussed about micromasters I guess they don't hold quite the same appeal to me.I'll just stick with Grapple and be satisfied.

The write-up on TFWiki's twitter suggests there's still C.O.M.B.A.T. compatibility.
Quite intrigued by the transformers universe map with Tech Spec-style decoding too!
