Nice little Rescue Bots haul from the charity shop near work today (no pics sorry, stuck in the office) - a Rescan series Bumblebee (the jeep one) and Brushguard, and some of those Playskool Heroes figures of the main cast too. All for £7, perfect for my son as he's gotten back into his Transformers since we brought the box of them down from his bedroom a couple of weeks ago.

I'm finding a lot of charm in the little Rescue Bots toys - they're basically One-Steps but they don't feel as cheap or compromised, they're mostly nice and solid with great, ingenious Transformations too.

That's no discredit to One-Steps either - some of them are cheap and nasty, yes (looking at you, most recent RID Bumblebee with 'flasher mack' fold-out transformation and wheels that don't want to stay on) - but some of them are also quite ingenious. I even like the AoE Bumblebee repaint that came with the recent Cassettes pack, gifted by the excellent @Art Vandelay after already kick-starting my son's Rescue Bots collection with a big ol' Chase. And then @privatespoon very generously supplied a few more for the collection.

I tapped out with Star Wars movies after TFA because all the hysteria, over analysis and complaining that goes with the fandom got too much and I finally accepted that recreating the feeling I got as a 7 year old seeing ROTJ at the cinema wasn't happening so I just let it go.

Some lingering intrest remains in the franchise for the Obi-Wan series or the Hot Toys Wicket figure which completely blindsided me in how it appeals to my love of cute furry things and I might get a Black Series Jawa to hang out with my Marvel Legends Deadpools but that's about it.

Got a message from PlayAsia this morning as a follow up to my sending pics of the damaged MAFEX Spidey arm and it looks like they're going to see if they can get a new arm from Medicom :)

There’s a few Hardhead faces on Shapeways, but I assume they’re all sized for regular Titanmasters. You could always ask about upscaling.

I’m of the generation that grew up with the original Star Wars trilogy so during the period between the Jedi and Phantom Menace I pretty much lost most of the interest I had in it as there was nothing really to sustain it. I was, however, very fond of the originals Marvel comic run, right up until the end, so the EU did bugger all for me and I never read the Dark Horse comics either.

I wasn’t expecting much from The Phantom Menace and, Darth Maul and the podrace aside, it delivered exactly what I thought it would, which was nothing much. I had even less interest in the second and third prequels and to this day can only remember a handful of scenes and characters from them.

I very much enjoyed TFA even though it was basically a retread, because I felt it captured more of the original feeling than the prequels did, and I thought TLJ was absolutely fine. Rogue One and Solo, however, were absolutely my jam and I loved both of them.

As far as the next film goes, I’m sure it will also be fine, but I’m definitely more interested in The Mandalorian.

Anyone got any of the IDW movie trade paperbacks? I've got the hardcases of volumes 1 and 2 which includes the first two movies and their prequels etc, but need the following:

    • Tales of the Fallen
    • Nefarious
    • Sector 7
    • Foundation
    • Rising Storm
    • Dark of the Moon

Let me know, before I buy them off Ebay...

Good luck, I remember how scary that was. I hope the new school will be great.

On another note, does anyone know where I might get a Quackles outside USA? Blind-buying season 3 Botbots online until he/she appears is a poor plan, and Ebay wants 30 GBP shipping for a tiny pebble of a robot.

My kids need their duckies back.

have you tried using the code on the back of the blind packs - think you need to look for number 16...

    https://www.seibertron.com/transfor...-blind-bag-codes-and-first-us-sighting/43560/

seemed to work well for me with series 1...

Thanks, knowing the code is one step closer! But I don’t think I can ask an online retailer to dig through a crate of blind bags unless they have ridiculously accomodating customer service like SirToys, and this is no country for smol bots. I don’t know of any irl stores carrying them. Which is odd because they’d sell like butter and spawn a new generation of toy collectors.

i'd suspect they'll turn up at some point in either Tesco, Smyths, or Waitrose - patience is key... failing that, maybe try reaching out to stateside collectors? - postage might nuke any deal though...
