Huddersfield Food and Drink festival. Fish, Chips and Gravy. Doner Kebabs with gravy. Takeaway roast dinners with gravy. Served outdoors via converted Ford transit.
Builders Tea, and pints of John Smiths to wash it down with for pudding.

Maybe in the 70s/80s but now Hudds is all gentrified it's all Mojito and Hipster cocktail and bar marquees with multi-ethnic (I've no issue with world food except for a large part it's culturally-appropriated to boot) street food stalls where the cheapest nosh is £8 a pop!
Meanwhile I suspect the local Borough Market's shawarma-serving kebab shop has closed, most likely because HMG have deported the nice fella that ran it! They did a really nice mixed shawarma wrap for £4 quid an' all. And fellas clearly from Tyneside serve shawarma that's more like Gyros!
I'm almost as sad as when I went back to Bradford to find the Magic Lantern was not only gone but completely demolished, the lovely fellas in there taught me how to drink a glass of tea middle-eastern-style!

One of my esoteric areas of interest is regional British takeaway variations. It fascinates me how localised many things are. For ex, back in Peterborough, I loved getting a kebab in a naan instead of a pitta. You could get it everywhere. Here in Hull, or when I was in London? Nowhere does it. Or the phenomenon of "Hull chip spice."

A brainteaser for the weekend, thanks to an obvious scam ebay listing. How can a Metroplex box (no contents) be new and unopened?

You'd be in luck in Halifax, there's at least one kebab takeaway that does the "in a naan" option, clearly the other places are hives of scum and villainy.
I mean the 'Fax is too but you can still get a kebab in a naan. :p
What is the sound of one hand slapping...a forehead? Is it a listing by Wile_e_CoyoteSupergenius669?

I'm joshing, I didn't realise Huddersfield wasn't in the North tbough. Sounds good scran.

Kebabs in naans super cool, shish kebab in peshwari Naan why isn't this a universal human right.

    I've already done that :lol

A few chippies in Clacton have chip spice. Rumour has it that if you consume too much you can see through time.

It's still in the North, it's just the hipster virus has travelled that far from it's origins! :p

Looks like I was right not to get too excited about 'Sold Out' Springer...

    Also somewhat Brunt-less I note.

Might be worth dropping them a line Saturday morning to split 'em and pay that postage if you want?
All my Siege Pre-orders bar Impactor & Mirage are singles now, so that'll probably be the one to bite me on the ass with one or the other dropping a month between each other! :p

Urgh... I thought I was being so clever, splitting Jetfire into a separate order from Thundercracker, Brunt and Refraktor(s)... apparently not clever enough for the release schedule from Hell.

I'll have to try, there's no telling how long it'll be before the rest reach us. God, it's like wave 2 all over again. But worse.

Agreed. Giving a figure a sword but no wrist articulation should be punishable by bees.

Also, it's Megatron. He needs to be able shake his upturned fist at things.

Well, I hate to be the message bearer yet again but I stumbled across this by pure accident (I was actually scrolling down their feed to look for an earlier post when the name 'Springer' caught me wandering eye), this was the reply to the query "What about Siege Springer? Has he been released over here yet? My preorder said June":
    Screen Shot 2019-08-02 at 22.15.14.png
That's, uh, that's somewhat later than the 8th.
