Definitely got my fings crossed for a good, proper blonde Harry Exton and a proper late 70s/Early 80s Crime films vibe setting rather than updating it to modern contemporary. Pre-internet Tradecraft is a big part of the tension for me.

This looks very cool and I can't wait to see the final piece, but seeing that picture I can't help imagining a little kid forlornly asking where their Playmobil camper van is and then bursting into tears upon learning the answer...

I thought I did, and had a look, but alas no.

Unf! I really hope they do do it as a period piece, set in the late 80's/early 90's. I'm buggered if I can figure out a truly compelling justification for setting it then. The tradecraft that CH mentions might not be a big enough reason for the Netflix crew.

They could do worse than take a leaf out of the 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy' remake, which did a wonderful job of recreating that smokey, terribly brown, very lived in 1970's British feel. I was, somewhat randomly, watching an interview with Garry Oldman and Mark Strong about TTSS. There was an interesting (YMMV) bit about the cameras they used to get the detail just fuzzy enough to make it feel like that era. So...please do that?

The TM/PM bad boys. Ugh. Just look at how good Fangry and the Decepticon Pretenders are. It's sooooooo frustrating they left those gaps, that CH is manfully filling. I almost wish they'd gone with the original plans of making these all new characters. That way I wouldn't have this feeling that something is missing from my life.

Needs some paint touch ups, but I'm pretty happy with him, now I just need to finish his trailer design and I'll have myself an entirely custom super ginrai. Its coming along well though

@waffel Awesome! Next Gen customising, IT'S THE FUTURE!
    (Foget garlic bread.)

Starting to wonder if I should get on the Siege Ironhide train, just in case some 3P does a Veteran Upgrade-style van roof/sled/gear set (ideally with hand-covering chemical blasting nozzle options).

Finally remembered to give ID Toys the reminder ring, and I have to say Nick and the initial fella whose name I didn't catch were both polite, relaxed, reassuring and entirely pleasant about getting it sorted, despite the obvious headache from having to sort out such an odd head-scratcher. 2nd Shuffler & Repuggles are on the way!

Yeah, I've heard people have had trouble. I've seen that it has to precisely transformed to pull it off. Needlessly fiddy then or just zero room for error?

Talking about that, man alive did the previous owner just approximate a truck mode to fit it back in packaging :lol  As a result I'm already hugely familiar with every part of the core robots joints and tabs.

Hey look, some TLK Leaders in my local Smyths! Including Dragonstorm!

    And they're all £45.

2 years later and still at that price? Yeesh.

Siege Schockers just arrived to knock me out of my plague-pit for a while and he’s a looker isn’t he? I mean, I don’t think I could have asked for a better looking central figure, as far as being ‘THE CHUG Shockwave’.

Spaceship mode is pretty damn nice too, I have to say, but I think mecha-Shiva is the weakest mode for me. It just seems a bit afterthoughty almost, in the way it’s been engineered. For example -

The two bits that just hang off the back and hinder leg movement are ONE SMALL HINGE away from being able to fold up onto the sides of the backpack and out of the way...why did they not just put them in???

That was my major niggle, as well as wishing his Lego heels were smaller or could at least fold away and wondering why the goblin glider isn’t covered in the instructions.

Oh, and the not a grip in not a gun mode is a bit wee, but even that’s not really much of a problem in the scheme of things.

We finally got a great non-MP Shockwave guys!!!!!!

Christ! I never stopped to consider that G1 Rodimus's alt mode most likely would have had a shitter in it. Everything I knew was wrong.
