Jammy bastard! Always wanted that one as a kid.

Growing up, after Transformers, MASK was the toy of choice. I only ever had a few vehicles, with Slingshot and Bulldog chief among them, but I had great fun mixing them in with my Transformers. So many times I've been hopeful modern day MASK stuff, first when the Human Alliance stuff came out (bit of a stretch), then when MASK got a mention in Prime (maybe?) and then when the comic came out last year (come on, come on) then the announcement of the movie (Come on they have to!).

But with the comic being cancelled, and the movie being cancelled, no chance is there? If they did I would prefer TR or HA sized figures for better cross play.

I did go on a bit of a binge early last year and bought a shitload of the 80's figures - which I have disperesed among my CHUG shelves, but I don't have the room for the vehicles at the moment. I do have Boulder Hill, which is pretty cool for TFs.

Even if there was a special edition range of bots in MASK colours. Like First Edition TF: Prime Optimus as Rhino.

Had that same discussion myself, and was likewise greeted with exasperation.

I think someone at Hasbro swapped the head sculpts out in some sort of homage to how they did that in the UK comics. Which is kind of some genius level fan trolling/service if you think about it. That’s what I choose to believe anyway.

Sorry to derail the thread, you guys can get back to talking about MASK now! :p  ;)

It's a bit of a backwards homage though, as they're now G1-Toy accurate, as opposed to G1 Comic accurate. Revenge?

Did I even list my childhood MASK? No I didn't... well. IIRC (it has been a while) between me and my brother we had...

Piranha (still have it, broken cowl but it's glued back on now)
Raven (sold because if the chrome)
Bullet/Bandit (broken cowl, might glue it back...)
Buzzard (what choo talkin' 'bout? Buzzard was the shit!)
    Iguana (sold...)
Afterburner (Melty rear tyres, so sold...)

Then I picked up a few bits from a friend at school...
Vampire (sold... cuz he wasn't very good...)
Venom's Revenge adventure pack (complete but one of the belt posts broke, so the belt is glued on).
    T-Bob and Scott.

As an adult I picked up...
Specialist Trakker GIJoe figure... because it was awesome. IIRC @Boardwise picked it up for me from Forbidden Planet waaaaaay back in the day.
Thunderhawk (cuz you have to right? It's like Optimus Prime.)
Manta (complete bar one broken wing antenna, picked up from Roll Out Roll Call in Southampton for £20!)
    Condor (boxed at TFN!)
    Stiletto (boxed, complete)
    Firefly (boxed, complete)

I might sell the Firefly box though... not sure.

'Funny' story about that Specialist Trakker figure. I once lost his gun, and I had no idea where it had gone. It had fallen out of my bag on one of my jaunts and that was it. Weeks later I parked up in Brent X TRU went to my boot and looked down. Lo and behold, there was the gun on the floor in the car park, it must have fallen out of my bag on a previous trip to TRU, and simply lay there unnoticed for weeks until I (creature of habit) returned to the TRU to the same parking spot.

    Crazy.

This thread is never on rails, it drifts about like a flux capacitor powered steam train.

Yes keen to get him and terrocons. Minibots and out til wfc. Quick question, are the Dinoboys as formidable a fighting force as the Wreckers. Who would win if one of the teams shattered glassed themselves?

I really need to dig out the box of MASK that sits in the attic!
    I know I have Thunderhawk/Switchblade/Boulder Hill/Jackhammer/Piranah (?)/Rhino but can’t recall names of the others..

Hopefully I get around to it before we cycle out of this convo again :D

Dinobots. The Wreckers number one gimmick is dying in large numbers, while the Dinobots seem quite indestructible. :)

Yeah, it’s very weird. But it looks like someone responsible for this stuff wanted to keep the headswap thing going! I can’t explain it, it’s just weird that of all the faces to swap over they did it with these two again...

    Sick perverts!

So, I do like the super G1 look of that Cyberbattalion Shockwave but I'm not 100% sure, what with the apparent simplicity of the design, that'll be the Voyager Class CHUG Shockwave I'm crying out for. I'd really got my hopes up for a Voyager Class Shockwave in PotP. Considering how wonky I found Grimlock and Starscream, maybe I dodged a bullet?

I got Astromagnum from (probably) a Tandy in Blackpool in the summer of 1987. Shockwave had been my favourite Decepticon since I'd started reading the comics in late '85, so I was utterly thrilled and thought I'd be the envy of ALL my friends. He's probably not the best designed bot in terms of robustness but that design is lethal. This guy will always have a very special place in my heart.

Depends who you consider a wrecker, if it’s every boy that’s ever been called one that’s a pretty big group of characters.

1:1 though I think grim would take anyone and most of dinos could hold their own (with swoop being the weakest) except maybe against impactor, springer who have more brains/skill in my eyes and broadside if you consider him to be massive.

Kup would also distract them all with war stories!

That being said a team of wreckers did take down a phase sixer.

Thanks! Not sure i've the patience to wait until TFN for the helmet but i'd definitely be interested in that panel. Sounds like a great idea

Just to go back to MASK, I am currently trying to piece together a Boulder Hill. I have some of the parts but am trying to track down the rest. If anyone happens to have any spare they wish to sell then gimme a shout.
