I will probably still order the helmet, would like to see if I can replicate the cloth look from the original toy.

Plus they have loads of other stuff I want so an order will be put in at some point

Hey pop pickers, was thinking of grabbing the Hyrule Historia book for my kid's next birthday. Any of you got it (or just read it) and offer me a quick mini-review? The descendant has played a few modern-era Zelda games (BotW and Twilight Princess) and has expressed interest in the wider lore...

I have it! It's fun, has a nice mix of lore and concept art and such, I've been a Zelda fan since I played Ocarina of Time on the N64 and I greatly enjoyed Hyrule Historia, it is certainly worth the money.
They also subsequently did an art book (Arts and Artifacts? Has a red cover) and a Zelda Encyclopedia (Blue Cover), I have the art book but not the Encyclopedia (yet) but I think Hyrule Historia would be a great read for someone getting into the wider lore :)  so yeah, can definitely recommend it! I hope the descendant enjoys their Zelda adventure. Also for game recs, if they enjoyed TP they might enjoy Ocarina of Time. Twilight Princess has some degree of followup to plots and characters from Ocarina of Time that your kiddo might enjoy, and it's sequel Majora's Mask might appeal if they enjoyed the darker tone of Twilight Princess. I believe both are available on the Switch as part of the N64 Expansion Pack for Switch Online, alternatively both had updated releases on the 3DS.
Skyward Sword is also a fun game and had a HD re-release on the Switch in the past year. While I've yet to play the re-release it has similar graphics to TP - though a bit brighter - and deals with the earliest point in the Zelda timeline and the origins of several series staples, not least of which the Master Sword. The original Wii release was exclusively motion controls but I gather the HD re-release added alternate gamepad only controls if that's more their speed :)

Honestly I'm not sure there's any Zelda game I wouldn't recommend, one of the great strengths of the series is that like Transformers there are a wide variety of releases with different tones and they're all pretty great.

    :rock
They certainly went with deep cut accessories. Though I've not used them yet the Dragonzord also comes with a pair of hands which are the fingers with the missiles poking out of them just before launch for the attack in the pic above as well.

Speaking of Power Rangers, having watched more Dino Fury I feel like the ideal way they could have represented the upgrade sleeve look, short of re-releasing all the Rangers down the line with the power up arm, would have been if they'd made the right arm swappable and had the figs come with an upgrade sleeve/gauntlet arm. Sadly they're three figures in with Lightning Collection Dino Fury figs and they don't seem to be going that route. I do wonder if one factor is that the more gimmicky figure releases are still ongoing and they don't want too much overlap and I know several of those have the powered up arms.

Perfect, thank you :)  I think I'll place an order for the Historia book, and hold the other two books in reserve for future gifts... thanks also for guidance on playing others in the series. I've played and enjoyed various Zelda games but the only one that really reeled me in is Wind Waker - the last game I completed before parenthood spiked my gaming wheels :D

Well, my mum picked another 2 Sorceress figures up for me today - 30p each!

If anyone wants one for the cost of postage let me know.

Yeah, proper gutting that Surridge had his chalked off as his knee hairs were offside. We are not on the favoured side of VAR at all and learning the hard way.

Naive defending cost us at the end of the day and has more than likely cost us the chance of a final.

Although, if you'd have said to me this time last year that we would be in a cup semi-final against Man Utd, 13th in the Premier League and sniffing round players like Navas of PSG and signing Brazilian wonder kids I'd have called for the men in white coats.

You're welcome:)  and yes, Wind Waker is great fun! I almost mentioned it but it's quite a departure from the tones of the two games you mentioned ^^

My turn to ask for help for a new desktop. I don't know all this technical jargon like core processors and stuff. I just need a good priced pc that runs things like office, websites and videos really quickly, with the only real gaming being done on it is star trek online. With hdmi port, headphone socket and it can talk to my printer scanner.

Seems after 10 years of loyal service, my current pc is hitting its end of life. Freezing up, can't see my printer, headphones dont work. Any help would be appreciated.

@Max Tower I've decided I'm not going to go over into the Ladybug thread, at least not while there's an ongoing series as while I avoided any big spoilers I saw some people are discussing episodes not yet available in English and I enjoy media best when I'm able to go in blind to anything that happens. Maybe I'll have a change of heart when we hit a true gap between seasons but for the time being I'm not gonna risk it.

Also your earlier posts reminds me I've not watched the Chibi Tales yet, for Ladybug or a few of my other shows :D  at this point I'll take all the Ladybug content I can get!

OK I am definitely putting in an order with Grid Iron Studios at some point, they've just released a G-36c, which, along with the Uzi and M16/M203 (which they also do) are my favourite guns

So really good basic productivity performance, very light gaming, extended longevity and not super steep price. How about this -

    https://www.overclockers.co.uk/refract-gaming-crimson-home-casual-pre-built-gaming-pc-fs-1dl-ep.html

Ignore all the marketing lingo, you would get-

Computer built out of standard off the shelf parts and hence normal repairability and upgradability, something which you don't get when you buy computers at lower price ranges from big OEMs like Dell, HP and Lenovo.

An APU that's a solid mid-range CPU and a GPU for basic low end gaming. In the long term, you could upgrade GPU by just putting a card in the slot and doing that would also open up dropping in a better CPU from the same generation if you can find one on eBay or whatever at that point.

16GB of RAM. Most pre-built desktops at that price range still have 8 which is good enough for basic use, but there is no such thing as too much RAM and having 16 will help in the long term.

The storage setup and PSU are very basic, but those are an easy upgrade later on if neccessary.

Printer and scanner compatibility is a software thing, so i'd advise having a google to see if there is still support for yours for Windows 11 no matter which computer you end up buying.

I don't suppose anyone has the head/jacket or arms from the Mcfarlane Solomon Grundy BAF?
The figure looks cool but I don't really want the figures the parts come with

Decided to go for another NECA alien, this time one that's less friendly than ALF......the 40th Anniversary Alien from the first movie :)

Target Exclusive WWE Ultimate Edition Bret "Hit Man" Hart Figure Available For Pre-Order (toynewsi.com)

Another day, another Bret ruined by shite likenesses

I wonder if the same person did this dreadful 90's Paul Heyman head,

Target Exclusive WWE Elite Legends Wave 18 Available For Pre-Order (toynewsi.com)

    @we_are_forest,
VAR is a mess, when it's getting down to toenails being offside or players nowhere near the ball being at fault it's a complete farce.

In the past week or so United have had a goal allowed against City that probably shouldn't have been given, Forest's goal against them should have counted and Rashford had one disallowed last night although it didn't affect the overall result.

All things considered Steve Cooper's done a decent job and the owner's certainly tried to back him with new players, it's like he tried to go for the record in a single window! :D

On a similar note I'm happy how quickly Erik ten Hag is turning things around and all being well the Glazers will soon be gone as well! :buttrock

The girls were having a damn good perv at He-Man while Duncan desperately tried to ignore that Sorceress had gone full Carol Vorderman.
