After all the people who bitch about how painted/nonpainted wheels are "accurate" in threads that don't concern them, I create this thread to provide a proper place for people to talk about wheels all they want and keep them out of the other threads about different topics.

Painted rims, unpainted rims, pinned wheels, clip-on wheels, plastic tires, rubber tires... feel free to discuss or rant about them here.

G1 had wheels, there's no need to keep going over old ground.

Are you kidding me? Wheels from 84-86 are the only ones that matter. All of the later wheels are barely even real wheels.

It'd be cool if rubber tyres were still a thing, but to be honest I don't have a particularly strong preference, although I would like to see some variety among the painted rims other than just silver.
I do find it kind of odd that some people get so bent out of shape about unpainted black wheels. I know the argument is usually that it "looks cheap", so, given there are a ton of real world vehicles with black rims, would they be more accepting of it if they were painted black (despite already being made out of black plastic)?

I like wheels that are circular.

    And roll.

G1 alone has some interesting variations with just wheels. The pack-in Minispies are a good example. It's one that will drive a completist collector nuts though. Why? Well, for each mold, there are two factions and three colors (white, blue, yellow). There are four molds (Jeep, FX-1, Porsche, and Buggy), making a total of 24 combinations. There are two wheel variations there, making 48 in total.

That's just the Minispies. There are plastic and rubber wheeled variants of Rodimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, and Metroplex....

Painted, unpainted, I could go either way. What bugs me are the clip-on wheels, specifically when they come broken and a wheel keeps falling off. This has happened on multiple figures that I've purchased.

Pinned wheel master race! Clip-on wheels suck. Doesn't seem like they're going anywhere any time soon, though.

Rubber tires are great and all, but you don't see plastic wheels crumbling due to age...
